Black or Orental?

In the games Jade is black!
In the second movie she was oriental!
So what is she?????????????? :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
 
the second movie was lame dont go off of anything that said, it is deceitful.
back in the day she looked black, in deception she looks kinda like an Indian so who's to say
 
I believe Boon always said she was meant to be Asian or oriental, I don't think she was meant to be black. Look at MK2, she still had darker skin than Mileena and Kitana. Some Asians have darker skin.

Ugh, I can't believe I'm giving a serious reply to this. Who the hell even cares what race she's supposed to be?
 
About Jade...

Since so much stuff's been condensed from the MK universe into the MK movies: personally I prefer to stick with the MK games, and in my opinion Jade is black. Those movie plotlines are quite unofficial, so I wouldn't take them too seriously.

She's been "black" in every game except MKD, where she looks Indian.

It was one game. She wasn't "black" in MK2 and she's only been in 3 games altogether.
 
in MK2 and in Deception she looks like Indian! in MKT she looks "black" because in that year she went to USA because she wanted a role in baywatch! but she had to give up when MKT started! thats why she's darker!!

No, Jade was NOT black in the game. Not ANY game. She was TANNED, like a hispanic person.

This is wallpaper I made of her. SHE IS NOT BLACK. Never was. They made her oriental in the movie. This is my assumption as to why:

People mistaken Jade for an ORIENTAL name. IT IS NOT. It originated in SPAIN. JADE is the name of the semi precious stone in Japan and so people immediately connect the name to being oriental. The creators of the movie obviously didn't do their homework on the name and assumed that since her name was Jade she should be oriental.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize this thread was a bit old but I wanted to say my piece. So many people make the same accusations. ACK. ^_^
 
And I thought her dark skin was a result of the colour swap they did to her orginally in MK2 and UMK3...

But that can't be right, I'm so stupid!
 
And I thought race and color didn't mean anything in Mortal Kombat.

If I had to give an opinion, I think she looks Hispanic. And to respond to 16skippy. Even if she lives in Edenia, how would she be black or any other race besides white in the first place? Or is that what your saying? :D
 
Yea that kinda what I'm saying like even looked black or indian she would be something we don't have in Earthrealm, like Durkadurkan or something

I see what you mean.... but if she was!!! from earth she'd be indian for now she's tanned but i think we can all agree she's not black... "not that there's anything wrong with that" :D
