here's the greatest piece of work i ever made: Lin Kuei's attack; when they turn the clan members into cybernetic ninja soldiers. please rate!

Dude, 4/10.
The concept is original, I'll say that much, but it's only the concept. Execution is horrible.
For starters, why did you invert the background? That looks -so- bad.
After that, I think you took the term "Sub-Zero running away from the Lin Kuei" a bit too seriously, even more than that. It was Sub-Zero the younger who ran away, not Classic Sub-Zero, so that's another screw up.
Also, I really don't think they tore Smoke open to turn him into a cyborg, I think they just put the suit on over him. Actually, I know they did, because if they did tear him open, his head wouldn't be operational (Cyrax's head was shown in Deadly Alliance, as in Gold). Also, you gave Sub-Zero a shadow (which was badly placed, as it goes over the ledge thingy), but nothing else. even the blood has to have a shadow, man.
By the way, why is there that one single hook hanging outside, it looks pretty bad. Also, that's -waaay- more blood than needed on the left leg. If it's already that far away from the body, it's not going to be gushing out buckets of blood. And, even if it did, you would have to do that for the other leg, as well.

Oh, I just noticed that Sub-Zero has a hook in his butt...I guess that explains why he's running.

Dude that reason its classic subby is becuase its the more ninja looking subby, the reason its inverted is to make it look like ice, and they didn't do anything to smoke's head. Don't attack kai like a vicious dog.

Anyways, good job buddy! 9/10
 
wow thanks for the support, buddy. i know it does look alittle screwy but i aint Captain McPhotoshop. i did the best i could at this. it may not follow the precise guidlines but oh well.
 
notice that the floor is different from the area they are in. the floor's a metal MK dragon. i tried hard to do the ice effect for the place. so much for that!
 
I really like it. Original and well done. I don't see any outstanding errors or inconsistencies. I love it.

The concept is good, but there are several flaws that ruin this picture.

First and foremost, the inversion of the background makes it an eyesore to look at. Sub-Zero running away is completely pointless. The robotic arms are floating in midair.

Next time, spend some more time. 9.5 is definitely wayyy to much to give this fake.
 
WHEN YOU PEOPLE ARE GONNA UNDESTAND?The LK's are not ice warriors,the temple shouldn't be icy,there was only 4 icy warriors in the mortal kombat history with the LK's,the first sub-zero(only part of the storyline),the classic sub-zero(mk1),the sub-zero we all love and frost..That means NOT EVERY FUCKING LK MEMEBER IS ICY,NEITHER SHOULD BE THE TEMPLE...That means the ice temple is a screw up



And saphirre,something you didn't notice is that sub-zerp took of the LK suit AFTER he escaped the LK's not during his escape.


Talking about the fake..It's well done if we are not talking about the story-line i like how the ROBOT head's hair is placed..But no shadows for smoke,hooks or blood and other stuff i agree with saphirre.

He took off his mask after he left the LK. At that time, he'd be still wearing it.

And Tear is right, the Lin Kuei temple was only Icey after Sub-Zero took over as grand master

But that's wrong..LK is not ONLY sub-zero,never was never will be..Even if sub-zero is the leader now..And look,cyrax,sektor and smoke(don't know about noob saibot and hydro)they are LKs and they don't have anything to do with ice.

And even what goraka said about how it became icy after sub-zero took over it..There's still LK warriors who has nothing to do with ice
 
Firstly, I didn't say that Sub-Zero was unmasked while he was still in the Lin Kuei, I just said that it's pretty bad to be using a Classic Sub-Zero sprite to represent him (There is a height difference between Classic Sub-Zero and unmasked Sub-Zero, same with body build).
Secondly, Shao Khan. I haven't been harsh to anybody, that's the way you rate art. A lot of people here have just been saying "Nice 9/10" or "I like it 9.10" That is totally crap, if you're going to post art here, you post it to get rated and see what other people who are better at you (Prophet and Goraka in this one) say to improve it. And, even if you aren't better at making the fakes, you still know when there's a good one and when there's a bad one. Honestly, it's not being rude or anything, it's just telling people what they did wrong so they can do better next time. That's how I learned, and that's how I see most of the other great artists around here learned.

There were five Sub-Zero's in Lin Kuei history, not just the three you mentioned. There has actually been a Sub-Zero in every generation of the Lin Kuei.
 
Excuse me but i didn't want to make things confusing,i was even afraid of some questions about the first sub-zero..And the thing about the height diffrence,well i don't think so,cause look at sub-zero in MK2,he and scorpion and reptile have the same height and body build..Than look again in UMK3 where scorpion,classic sub-zero and reptile have the same body build,plus the classic sub-zero have ben used many times to represent the younger in many fakes...It's just a detail,he is still sub-zero.

It's not our faults that we are more critical of art and have higher standards. If we must get into the whole argument of rating things too high just to make someone feel better for the new members, I'm ready.

Because honestly, to just rate something high because the creator is your friend defeats the purpose of putting it up for critiqueing. The people I turn to every time I want advice on how something looks, always give their actual opinion and tell me what they think will look better. Probably why my art actually is good compared to the 5 minute slap together jobs that we see here that an 8 year old with a PC could put together. It's also the reason that I like them, because they can be honest.

If you just hide behind a veil of lies to build up another person, well, you're just lieing. Sorry, but that is the way it is.

And yeah, if you want a numerical rating, 2/10. It's not so hot. In fact it's pretty hideous. Way too bright, and they way you have the automation taking place is plain silly. Ripping him apart and then putting new pieces on? And there is no sence of organization. Just a bunch of mechanical arms coming out of nowhere with bits a pieces attached to all of them.

Yeah, thats how I see it.
