Arcade Stick Best Button Set Up?

Hi all im using a street fighter tournament edition arcade stick, I cant really figure out the best set up for this 8 button stick. Honestly the Block button is confusing me, going from MvC3 and SF its awkward... but was wondering how a experienced player would set up this type of arcade stick.

Also on a side note does the MK stick over the SF stick have an advantage considering the buttons are more accessible like block etc?

I've been using the default layout on the SF stick, seems to work best. Although the MK TE stick will have a diff layout:

FP xx FK
BP BL BK

I'm going to test out this layout see how it feels.

From what I understand the MK TE stick will need modding right out of the box.

It should just be a simple cherry swap though. I believe that, "block" in UMK3 and MK2 are mapped to a different button than MK9 by default which also happens to be unchangeable. So in order to use the stick properly across both games you'd have to switch one of the contacts and then re-map block in MK 2011 to R1/RB and whatnot.

@truendymion, I was thinking

FP TAG BP
FK BLK BK

Or

FP BP TAG
FK BK BLK

I dont know lol... The thing is i dont have a arcade stick for the PS3 so im anxiously awaiting for the xbox 360 demo to test out these setups and see what feels right.

@TerryMasters, Thats would not be a problem for me since i dont play UMK3 anymore but that is kinda lame. I really do like were the Block button is positioned on the MK stick but unfortunately i dont have the money for it atm.

I use this setup on my TE stick:
FP BLK RP
FK TAG RK

I like having the block button on the top since my fingers hover over it more so than the 2nd row of buttons.

With that set up, your X-ray would be a little difficult.

Thank you. I've been lurking around here for about a week now and i like the community here so far from what I've seen. Well it did take some getting used to at first but now i can do it with no problem hehe. Been tinkering with Mileena in the demo here n there til mk9 comes out.

(Tag) (BP) (FP) (X) X= none mapped button which I hope they add to the full version.
(BlLK) (BK) (FK) (X)

Might not be traditional MK layout but does make sense with the Japanese layout of the curved buttons and having your thumb rest against the block button.

Now if your using the straight 6ix button layout then below makes sense.
(X) (BP) (TAG) (FP)
(X) (BK) (BLK) (FK)

Now of course these being based on the StreetFighter TE stick layout.

Hyabusha is referring that a X-ray can be activated by pressing both kicks and block at the same time. As well the change stance is just two kicks pressed at the same time. That why I hope that have an option to set a pre-mapped button to none ;)

Ya that's why it took a little getting used to since i have to position my fingers in a triangle type shape for it but i got used to it over time hehe. Would be nice if you could map buttons to none but will most likely be able to map those last two buttons for training mode purposes like record/replay recorded inputs as i usually do that with fighters that has those options in training mode. ^-^
