IGN has a look at the first Mortal Kombat: Deception inspired "M" rated controllers from Nubytech. Each of the 4 controllers contain graphic artwork of fatalities on the face of the controller. Depending on the quality of the controller these might be just a little gimmicky.

I have a really good one, it's the Pelican Real Arcade. It's Universal, so works for PS2, Xbox and GameCube. The problem is that is has a really short cable and no cable extensions work for it.

Prolly gimmicky. When they out?

they come out around the 22 and you can get them at gamestop for about 30 dollars they come in baraka (silver) scorpian (gold) and sub zero (blue)

I suppose if you really wanted a joystick you could buy 2nd hand arcade parts on ebay and put it in an MDF or even lexan box... you have to hack up an Xbox controller though (only good use for some of that 3rd party crap IMO)

or if you have deep enough pockets you could spring for the king daddy: the X-Arcade :D which is also universal and built from all real arcade parts. At close to $200 for a 2 player joystick plus another $40 for the adapter for your particular console it's really only worth it if you REALLY want a joystick and REALLY need it to work with every console under the sun.

I suppose a 3rd option would be to pickup a PS2 controler adapter. I mean there's litterally hundreds of joysticks available for playstation.

I was going to do the same thing, I have a MK2 control panel with parts already, and was going to wire it to a 3rd party xbox controller. The housing box was the only issue. But then I found the Pelican Real Arcade stick.

My $40-50 Pelican Real Arcade stick is a wood cabinet and arcade parts, and works with PS2, Xbox and GameCube. They just don't use Cherry microswitches, a higher quality switch. I may order some good replacement parts (buttons, joystick and switches) from one of my former employers Happ Controls instead of second hand parts, they supply most/if not all the arcade industry. And used to make specialized controllers for Midway's games. Can't beat brand new. So for $60-70 I'd have something just as good as the X-Arcade or any real arcade.
