To say the least it's quite interesting and I hope the things he talks about "approach" wise is handled well in the upcoming movie.

Thoughts?

Thanks for sharing these. :)

I saw the fight rehearsal video and I must say Im impressed. They could have added those additional bits in the Scorpion, Sub Zero fights though, it surely would have been a more well rounded fight then.

At the same time unsettling that the director keeps saying that they need to make the fight scene realistic to make it look believable and thus steering away from how the characters are in the game. I really hope they don't go about the oncoming movie this way. This is MK, not everything in it needs to be realistic, its more like a fantasy world with only some similarities to the real world.

^ In that sense he only meant that the fights actually needed to look like.... fights lol. where everything that was used in the fights, whether it was weapons, superpowers, or flip kicks needed to be done in a way that would atleast LOOK plausible in an actual fight situation as opposed to a barrage of projectile attacks being used or a barrage of flip kicks being used

Yes, I agree but as Ed Boon stated in the beginning, fights in MK are not just fights lol. Its a mixture of martial arts, magic attacks, blood and gore, weapons all in somewhat equal proportions. Although I did enjoy the fights in the series as far as general fight choreography was concerned, I cannot appreciate it as good MK style fights.

Well either way, with a better schedule etc, hopefully KT finds that middle ground between martial arts and supernatural that still keeps the fights brutal and give the outlandish ingredients that MK's known for. Which is why I think he made the comparison to the handling of said things in the 1st Matrix as opposed to the third one.
