ok i got to shao kahn with like more than 3/4 of my health left,im doing pretty good and he's 3/4 dead......all of a sudden there's this hammer swing that just is a total cheap shot and it gets like half of your health,is there anyway whatsoever to block or dodge this thing???

i just beat shang tsung and kintaro and when i was about to fight shao kahn i think im supposed to fight shao kahn, but anyway when it was loading it just stopped and it was just like that and it hasn't gone since,should i wait?,has this happened to anyone else or is my game or ps2 just screwed...
