Exactly. If Dark Raiden goes to the past, anything he alters (and without delving into time travel complexity itself, just by going there is already altering) compromises his future. If Scorpion gets out of the past to go to the future, he basically compromises his future self, even though the past cannot be damaged. BUT, if time is an illusion...who knows what kind of play is going on.
I think MK11 will be a game that will explore a wide variety of realities. I won't be surprised if we go into One Being area.
I disagree. Raiden pays the prices he has to pay and makes the sacrifices that unfortunately must be done, but they are usually inevitable.
MK9 had most heroes die, still, if they kept as they were in UMK3, we do know how that would end. He had to face Liu Kang and submit temporarily to Shao Kahn in order to defeat him. In the end, he got the job done, but sure, there was a high price to be paid.
(Won't quote Comics cause I absolutely ignore that, but I get the point)
And in MKX nobody died, but he became Dark, still, he had to do that in order to save Earthrealm from death. He imprisoned Shinnok, and he could not only beat him once again because he was beaten and tired of his realm travels, and not very rejuvenated from the Jinsei (and probably very mad lol).
Sometimes Raiden is said to be guilty of most bad things, but I think he's the only one capable of doing the sacrifices to maintain Earthrealm's existence. Most results are of war, or unfortunate things that have to happen for a greater good.
I said "lesser prices" tho because I know Dark Raiden cares for nothing and will do *anything* to save Earthrealm, and THIS is the real mad Raiden that is able to screw everything up lol on that I cannot disagree (but still love him anyway

)
