Tryning to guess who will be the final boss...

Onaga would be super cool in 2D plane,guaranteed,but i still think the big bass should be more of a surprise.Sub boss status is not enough for a character of such magnitude,so, in the end,i don't want him back for now.

Shinnok i would like to be like Shang Tsung in MK9,boss of one part of the story,but still a normal playable character.
 
I kind of like the idea of Onaga using Liu Kang's body as a host. That would be pretty sweet.
Shinnok, Kotal Kahn then Onaga would be a good boss ladder. I would however like to have Goro as playable.

Considering he is the "Dragon" King, I don't think so. But well, he could be called that way for other reasons.

But he has always been like this. On Sindel's ending on MK:D, you can see that (and this video is in very good quality) Onaga's body is still a reptillian's body, just like we see him.

After Deception, when he is killed by Shujinko, his soul was sent to the NR, and there Shinnok allowed him to return, to make alliance in Darkness to defeat Blaze. So, now he didn't have Reptile, and still was a big dragon-like.

Now, as I always say, then how Reptile was exactly on the place where the egg hatched? Because it's a prophecy, no matter what, it shall be completed, may not be today, tomorrow...but someday. And that was the day.

I figured he always looked "dragon" like, just not the wings and giant tail.
sort of like in Raiden's DA ending


i wonder if they just had different plans for his design in the beginning.
or maybe there's a reason he looks so different in that video.
 
Onaga using Reptile's body was a cool plot element, but the concept of Armageddon ruined it, since both characters had to be included at the same time.

And it is still entirely possible that NRS eradicates all traces of Onaga in MKX...

Onaga wasn't using Reptile's body on Armageddon, it was his own, I don't see why they would eradicate all traces of Onaga in MKX, unless they put the prophecy to be fullfilled in a time where there won't be games. Yet, Onaga appears in MK9, two times.
 
I don't think it's going to be Onaga proper. He's probably too big and also hard to do - just like Goro/Kintaro/Sheeva/Motaro and other similar characters NRS has resigned on. If Onaga returns... then only in someone's body. Liu Kang?
 
"Too hard to make".....with this level of gaming engine? Hmmm.....Does anyone played Tekken 6? Final boss - Azazel. I don't think it's too hard to make anything in video games. Onaga would fit, as final boss, even if he's unplayable. Even a four legged centaur they should make finally.
 
It's not exactly about the tech, but the attitude and approach. It's pretty obvious they find them impractical.
 
we were told that the story is in a span with 15 years, in my opinion im thinking there are going to be several bosses:

- Shinnok: same outcome as hes betrayed by Quan Chi but I wonder who will beat him if its not Liu Kang? Maybe Sub Zero I dont know

- Quan Chi and Shang Tsung: They wont be bosses...I dont think they'll dedicate so much to these two guys

- Onaga: Again just like how he arrived from MK Deception and will be beating by Shinjikno or stays alive till Armageddon

- Blaze or The One Being: there was me thinking Armageddon was canon but turns out its not. Rather than Blaze I would change storyline to The One Being (to his best form) causing this armageddon but will he be beating my Shao Khan and then Khan beats Raiden? Dont Know
 
If Shinnok ends up playing a big role this time around, then I hope they stay away from the Quan Chi fake amulet story.

It's wayyy to predictable. Id rather see Shinnok with the upper hand.
 
Ed Boon already said that the The One Being won't be in the story mode. Why would anyone want to fight a nigh omnipotent character as a boss is beyond me.

i cant memba the endings to mk4 but was it that predictable? i dont think it was

you see what im also thinkin about is this.....i think this game will definetly confirm what happened in Armageddon, seems like shao khan is already confirmed to have beaten blaze but what had happened with him and onaga if they are still using that story? Also on that pyramid I think Shao Khan gets defeated somehow and then a tournament starts again in the timespan involving the new characters such as kotal khan, cassie cage etc

It's all good :)

The One Being works through characters like Onaga and Shao Kahn.
It's basically the reason they want to merge the realms.

It's debatable, but it seems that Shao Kahn was most influenced by The One Being when he's on top of the pyramid, about to bring Armageddon and destroy the realms.
And also when he's about to merge Outworld with Earthrealm.
 
The One Being is what Onaga hoped to become by obtaining all of the Kamidogu. He wasn't successful though.
