NRS's lack of communication about the netcode is inexcusable

PSN being down has nothing to do with NRS so why would they tweet about it? Besides Sony already posted about it on their website.

I have no right to complain about a game I payed 60 dollars for so I can play online with friends that live 2 hours away now, but the lag is so bad that it makes such things impossible? All this on top of the fact that NRS promised perfect online, and are refusing to acknowledge anything about lag, despite posting on their twitter all day?
 
But thats just it. We shouldn't be forced to play with people in your area... unless your talking about country-wide.

This game should've been flawless. NRS did a bad job at testing. They should've done an online demo instead of the 4 character ladder demo.
 
I've experienced the lag issues myself and I got cable net and play a lot of fighting games with online play just fine. It definitely needs to be improved that's for sure. Also I've been gathering people to sign and give feedback on a petition post I made which if interested you can do the same. The link is in my signature. It's not a bash on the netcode petition but more of showing NRS how big of an issue this is for online playability and providing them with some suggestions on other small things involving online play. For now however we just have to wait for any announcements/patches.

Your wrong. They said so from the start, that there is no lag. Yet there is lag before PSN went down.
 
Am I really the only one having zero problems with lag online on both consoles or are the people suffering from it here in a minority?
 
It would be nice if something was mentioned. Namco for example was able to patch Tekken 6's online, with the ranked match finding and lag issue.
 
lol at people saying the netcode isn't as bad as everyone is saying. I can't even play MK with my friend that lives a couple miles away from me without horrible lag. I'm on a 25/25 fiber connection and he has a good cable connection. Last night MK was horrible so we played almost lag free SSFIV, MvC3, and some Portal 2. MK is worse than MvC3, which is no small feat. NRS needs to fix this.

For me, online play has been horrific. Sync issues, massive input lag, very long wait to find opponent. All this happens *almost* every single game. People can barely pull fatalities because of the input lag, no joke.

I, for one, know that my connection isn't to blame. I've got a wired cable 30mbit connection (low latency) with an Open NAT. Black OPS is lag-free for me with a dozen players running around everywhere, explosions and 3D environment. How Fighting games cannot be lag-free is beyond me.

I really hope the lag/sync issues are fixed soon because this is the fist MK game I'm looking up to since MK3! I haven't touched anything since.

Apart from the online disaster, this game is flawless.
 
Probably the lag was caused by A) server overload from too many trying to get online at once to play B) hackers trying to break in PSN before it finally went down. or C) a combination of both.

If you're that desperate to play against someone else do like they used to do in the old days, get together with your friends at your place or theirs and use two controllers and one tv. Gasp! Actual human interaction, might want to try it sometime. Sorry for the sarcasm but people are ridiculous in complaining about this stuff. Problem with society is people expect instant satisfaction.

A lot of things can go wrong with technology getting upset about it wont fix it any faster.
 
I will check it next week. hopefully it's not as bad as people are saying but it will get fixed I'm sure...

You make two good points, but people are truly to ignorant to appreciate what they've got.\

And on a further note... all this "I paid $60 for online" blah blah ********... No.. You paid $60 for a video game. You paid for the time that went into creating the video game. Online is just an added feature that as long as you bought the game brand new you don't pay for. You should be greatful that they gave us online for free. They could have charged more for it. They could have said "Oh, well if you want to play MK online you have to pay $5 a month." They didn't. It's free (if you buy the game new) and an EXTRA bonus that came with the game.

I'm not sure if this part can be said, so Jade if you have to delete it, go ahead. But it's funny how you people are *****ing about how they haven't responded and that you don't care about it being Easter, that they have been working for 2+ years, so it doesn't matter if they want to spend time with their families. However, I guess it can be expected, because your on the forums *****ing about it on Easter instead of being with your families.

I just want to say get off there a**!!! NRS worked there butts of to give us an awesome MK game, let them enjoy there vacation and give them some time to fix the lag. Its not like they can do anything right now with the playstation network down for 3 days, that means MK has really only been online for 1-2 days haha. You guys need to calm the hell down.

I just want to get what I am paying for and the specifications on the box say online play, which is only partly true. If I buy a car and the engine works but the breaks are defective, are you going to make the same argument to stop complaining because of technology and i've got four wheels and an engine which can still drive?

Not all of us have a thriving MK community locally.
