Mortal Kombat 1 General Discussion Media Thread

I'll get it at that time, then.
I have no issue waiting until things get further patched.
Sadly, WB doesn't learn / give a shit.
They force their dev teams to rush shit out and it needs tons of fixing, then end up getting backlash for it.
They did learn MK has not had any power that is visually kooler than liquid metal:

Tornado, dog, house, city, tire, wrench, door, light, air-conditioning, cat, rain, flowers, canoe, airplane, handlebar, Christmas tree, pumpkin, boots, earth, fire, wind, water, heart.............Captain Planet!

End the insults. Stand down please.
Just replying to you how you replied to me.
None of what you replied to me with makes any fucking sense, either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pot, meet kettle.
I said MK has not had any power that is visually kooler than liquid metal. Not my fault you're not literate in my language you foreigner!

The language of stupidity? No, you're right. I don't speak that language.
Your initial reply about your liquid metal character that you fap to has NOTHING to do with the MK Legacy Kollection that I was talking about, asshole. Feel free to reply to yourself.

Been a while since I posted here.
All I can say is.... I'm really looking forward to what happens to MK next, now that Netflix has won the bidding war for WB. Really looking forward how they'll quadruple on certain political messaging and themes, instead of you know... making a functional and fun game. Should be a yearly thing as well! Like CoD, which completely went off rails recently and bombed spectacularly. If I don't get a Jaguar-tier MK next, I'll be disappoint.

Yeah Cary-Hiroyuki dying sucks, but we also get this funny and ironic development.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention... Legacy Kollection was a massive fail. They can't even emulate a bunch of ROMs anymore. Plus the online is abysmal, makes MK9 look perfectly normal. I'm sure there are still people wanting that 3D Era Kollection.... and a MK9 Demaster...... all 10 of them.

^So, like, let me guess...Millarworld is going to become a DC imprint...Night School Studios is going to become the new publisher of all of Warner's games...Netherrealm studios are going to put bilboards on their games' stages showing netflix ads...what else?

I'm not sure about how to feel about Netflix owning WB but it is what it is. I'm kinda surprised Disney didn't buy them just for the DC stuff alone. It's obvious Netflix only cares about the DC, Harry Potter and Game of thrones movie TV show side of things since that adds value to their streaming service but I'm not so sure about the game division. If that new MK2 movie flops.. will they continue with the games or just sell the ip off to someone else? Again it's too soon to know. Considering how MK has dropped the ball will MK11 and MK1....NRS must be feeling the heat from this one. Netflix may see NRS as a liability and cut the cord. 2026 is definitely going to be a interesting year for MK...

Something strange/bad about the merger is, because of the split, Netflix is not getting Cartoon Network or Turner Classics, but it is getting HBO, HBO Max and TNT Sports.

Also, the dolts at Paramount are still considering a hostile takeover.

Yeah it's rarely ever a good thing when a giant corporation swallows another. I'll try my best to stay positive since there is a very small chance we might get a good/decent NRS game out of this. It's all we can hope for. I don't want to spend ten or more years waiting on the next NRS game just to be disappointed again.....

That bidding war may not be over yet. Paramount, which Kushner and Trump himself have ties to has put in an aggressive / hostile bid for $108 Billion.
I'd prefer Netflix owning it over any of those 2 having control of the DC and MK franchises / IPs.
Shit choice of Netflix or Paramount being the new owners, either way.

As for a 3D era Kollection.........I'm one of those 10 that wants the 3D era Kollection, but the new Publisher will likely take 1 look at the shit sales from the Legacy Kollection 1 (because Digital Eclipse couldn't get their shit together) and be like "see, no one wants a 3D era Kollection," which would be a fucking garbage take.......Of course, though, they'll always blame the consumer rather than accepting their own blame for a faulty product.
Same thing with MK1 and the next game going forward..........People don't buy Khaos Reigns because it was over-priced garbage with a shit story and controversial guests (T-1000 and Conan)?
WB / new publisher:
Insert Simpson's meme: "No, it's not that. It must be that people don't like the roster."

So now Netflex says WB Gaming Division held no value and no MK at EVO at all.

B-b-but Reddit would downvote anyone who dared to say anything negative about their precious MK1, holding up those worthless NPD charts as some metric....

Remember guys. Steam, Twitch, tournaments don't matter. What matters is some regional NPD chart on one platform without any numbers. PS: Legacy Kollection has 37 gamers running the game worldwide at this very moment on Steam. MK9 has 21.

Paramount vs Netflix is just Alien vs Predator. Regardless who wins we lose IMO. Nether corporation gives two shits about MK. The best we can hope for is whoever wins the bidding war stays out the gaming division's way. That way whatever projects are under development don't get shit canned or rushed out the door because of ''restructuring''.

To the shock of no one MK legacy Kollection lost to Fatal Fury at the VGAs for fighting game of the year. It's so sad that even the biggest shills in the industry don't care about MK anymore.

To play Devil's advocate for a second, I don't think that ANY type of collection should even be NOMINATED for the GOTY of that category. I don't care what extra stuff it has or doesn't have. Those games already came out and they're not remakes or anything.
I may get shit for that that, but no, collections (imo) should not be valid for nominations. If you go there then you have to give EVERY single collection of old games that re-releases a chance to get GOTY.

Well to play those old games before the MK legacy released you would have to own the original hardware. own a ps3,360 to access the arcade Kollection or dabble in PC emulation. Which is something most people aren't willing to do so in that sense it can be viewed as a new product to some even if it is just ''old'' games repackaged. Regardless It still sucked as a final product and that's why it lost to a better game.

I DO own the original hardware when it comes to the Sega Genesis, 32X & PS1 games, so maybe in that case it's just me as the Simpson's grandpa yelling at a cloud. Lol
It's not just MK, but any "Collection" or re-released game (imo). I would have said the same thing if they re-released the Nathan Drake Collection (with the first 3 Uncharted games) and it was considered for an award for action-adventure.
I agree with you that it deserved to lose to a better game, since Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is an actual new game, but (imo) it shouldn't have even been up in the running. It's like if GTAV were to be nominated for every console generation / year in which it released for......PS3 / 360, PS4 / One and PS5 / Series X|S. I wouldn't agree with that either.
