TeamXbox Interviews MK: Shaolin Monks Producer
TeamXbox has posted an interview with Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks producer, Shaun Himmerick. Here's a bit on the game's storyline.

What can you tell us at this point about the storyline for Shaolin Monks?

Shaun Himmerick: Liu Kang and Kung Lao are the heroes in this game. Shang Tsung attacks earth after losing the MK1 tournament and our heroes have to defend it. In order to defeat Shang Tsung the characters go after him into Outworld.

The player comes across many of the MK characters from the past as you work your way through the game, some friendly and many as enemies. Some of the most interesting enemies in the game are ones that were just background elements in MK2 like the shadow priests from the Portal.

First Images of Mortal Kombat TV Games at IGN
IGN.com has an article with a few details and pictures of the upcoming Mortal Kombat TV Games unit from Jakks Pacific. The TV Games product is a plug and play battery-operated device that plugs directly into the television. IGN finds out how the unit works and how close to the original arcade version this product is.

Two of these units can be linked together for one-on-one fights, and the internal memory chip will record high score standings, just like the original arcade unit. Jakks Pacific promises that the version of Mortal Kombat in this controller will be completely unedited, featuring the same blood and fatalities the series is known for.

Welcome EGM Readers!
In the February 2005 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, EGM profiled fighting games featuring online play. Mortal Kombat Deception tied with Capcom vs SNK 2:EO for the fighting game with the best "online climax and community," with four stars each. In the article EGM also mentions our own TRMK Forums as being a "handy community hub no matter which version you own." To read the whole article, click on the thumbnail on the right.

We would also like to welcome all newcomers to check out our comprehensive MKD Strategy Guide and invite them to join our Message Forums community.

Credit to Forum Member Tourettes for the heads up, and Forum Moderator Drew for the scan. Huge thanks go to the entire TRMK Forum Membership who have made our fourms one of the best. And not to mention the editors at EGM for the excellent plug!
