Earlier today the French website jeuxvideo (English Translation) posted the possible box art for the Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection. Information wise there isn't much new besides a very interesting "3D Compatible Game Video" logo which could explain why this is a PS3 Exclusive right now. They also have the game's release date as November 18th and it'll be on sale for 30 Euros ($40 USD) as well. Here's a look at the artwork:

Update 9/25/2010 12am CST According to MK fan redCassandra555 on Twitter, the red corner DOES say that a demo of Mortal Kombat (2011) is included. This is great news as we all may be playing the new MK game demo in our homes in a few short months!

We got a translation from MK fan redCassandra555 on Twitter. It DOES say that it includes the MK 2011 demo.

Awesome. I'm glad it's going to be $40 and not the $70 that was listed on the GAME retailer.

Ahem...ya I know. I wonder if this means there won't be a demo on the regular PS Network for people who don't buy the collection? Or maybe just for a certain amount of time.

Probably not unless they're planning to charge people for the demo. I'm assuming that the 360 version (assuming it's an XBLA download) won't have this demo either. I guess it doesn't really matter, but it would be nice. I'm also starting to think that this is gonna be an upscaled version of the old games instead of entirely new footage. If that's the case, I'll be severely disappointed, but I'll still buy it.

Last year, the GOW collection had the GOW3 demo in the form of a PSN voucher. Sony was also giving them away to some PSN account holder randomly. So I'm assuming this will be a similar case where the demo will eventually go public.

Yes, the red corner say "inclus la démo du prochain jeu Mortal Kombat", which means : "included the demo of next Mortal Kombat game" ! Great artwork, but Daniel Pesina (as Johnny cage) has still disappear from the side of MK1 aracade cabinet, where he originally was... sad !

He hasnt been on the MK1 cab since UMK3 lol, because of this: i myself like the Cage-less MK1 cab more anyways. nothing against Dan, it just looks better.

I'd forgotten about that. I guess there actually was a good thing about Bloodstorm.

Love the box art, hope it's something like the definitive thing... it says it all... AND UMK3... Helllll yeah !!! :D and in memory of the classic MK1, found this on the web... :D

i just wish it gets made for xbox! since i have a xbox lol, mk2 was great , all the secrets and easter eggs made it awesome and the kharacters ruled, i want this kollection!

Sorry I hadn't seen that thread when I wrote this story. My guess is PS Network demo only for those with the discs, due to it's size. But I'd love to be surprised.

I'm glad to have gotten my money back at GameStop, for my Pre-Order 2 weeks ago. It WAS off their system as Tim Static had said. I'll just wait until an OFFICIAL GameStop Pre-Order announcement has been made, to Pre-Order the HD Kollection again.

Well in the US the date of the 16th makes the most sense as all games are released/shipped on the 16th. In other countries, that may vary thus the different date for Europe.

That cover is awesome. I've always loved the MK2 cab <3 Anyone else remember how goddamn hard MK1 was at the arcade? Holy shit....

MK1 got tough when you got to the Mirror match and edurance, but it was never as hard imo as some of the AI in MK2 especially, and some with the MK3's

Hey, bad news ! The box art for MK HD Kollection seems to have been removed from the french website ! The text is the same (MK HD Kollection for 17th of november in France) but it can be an argument for those who doubt that the game will contain MK9 demo ! What do you think ? Is there another seller's website where the original art box is still viewable ? ?

The site doesn't say anything about the MK 9 demo NOT being included.

Also of note, TRMK Reader in their system.

My source has told me numerous times they are shooting for release on XBLA. thats all i got

I always thought it'd be cool if the XBLA releases of the HD collection would go to the XBL Retro-Arcade Room simulator. Highly unlikely, sure, but it would be nice to see. But then I'd have to demand a Killer Instinct arcade to go alongside.

i like how they got all the cabs on the cover. hopefully this remake will call for a trmk tournament. muw haha ha!
