I don't really know what my favorite MK game but i hate MK:DA beacuse they don't have Liu kand on he's one of my favorite characters and MK:3 beacuse they didn't have scorpion and yes i do like Sub-zero

^Same as he put >_> LMAO!

MK:T by far. UMK3 for any version coming in second. (PS1/N64 are about tied IMO but to others they are far different due to the brokeness of the N64 version)

My favorite MK game of all time for now is MK:D, but that may soon change to MK:A, especially since Johhny Cage will be back along with all the other characters and create a fighter..*tear*

Anyway as far as 2D, it would be between MK2 or MK Trilogy if it wasn't glitchy.. freakin MK Trilogy..

3D, of course MK:D.

UMK3 was the best. MKT for PSX is a close second. MKT had lots of characters and very good (umk3-like) gameplay but then had lower quality graphics and overall a lot more brokenness and balance issues.

In the future use the seach function, theres like probably 10 threads like this already.

I guess mine is MKD right now, but that's certain to change. Especially now that I'll be able to make my own characters.

Hmmm tough decision. I liked MKGold because it had my favorite characters Raiden,Quan Chi,and Goro. I think my favorite at the time though is Mortal Kombat Deception, It's lack of A-rate characters are made up for my it's surperior fatalities, death traps etc. and Goro rocks in it. The best 2d is definetely MK2 for it's good interpetation of Raiden, cool arenas and characters, and awesome fatalities.

for me it MK:3 becuase it was the first one that i played. then MK:4 through MK:D because of the 3-d fatalities. Really I liked all six mk games. :)

MK 4 !!!!!!!! This is because from MK4 , I haven't played any other newer MK's because I can't afford a PS2 or XBOX .. plus you don't find ANY CONSOLES here ... :(

Tough choice. No game is really perfect, and each have some good qualities.

I guess MK2 the arcade versions are my favorites. They have a great look to them and fun characters. However, I had a BLAST playing through MK3 for the PC (win95 edition!). That probably had the greatest atmosphere and graphics (CD music and FSAA!) of any home port on the PC thus far. And it had online play, even if I never used it. Sure UMK3 and MKT had more characters to play around with, but MKT bugged me by denying me certain abilities to characters that they ought to have had (like Goro's stomps, and more classic fatalities) and the games just felt "cheap" somehow. Still fun for variety though.

Even though MKG gets bashed and is a painful step into 3-D, I do appreciate it for what it does, and I love the videos.

Very easy for me, it's MKII hands down. It's also unquestionably one of my favorite games of all time. I still play it actually.

Unlike the others, the game genuinely pushed the genre forward (air throws, juggles galore, good character balance, and some form of stage interaction brought by stage fatalities etc.) It looked great, the audio was also impeccable for 1993 standards, though I think that MK3 had the superior audio and better music. More importantly, it was a gigantic step up from MK1 in every way.

I've invested a lot of time in the game too, alongside RE2 and Tekken 3.

MK4 is my fave, and the last one I really liked.I don't care for the last 2 (MKDA,MKD) much at all.UMK3 and MK4 had the best gameplay,IMO.
