i would go steal hundreds of xboxes and games and take them back to the past so i will get rich and when i return to the future i wouldent be ocught because the whole world would have changed.

That would create a time flux. Think about it. You took x-boxes back to the past to a time when Microsoft and technology as a general wasn't that advance. Sure you might shock a few kiddies with how good the graphics are, but you'd change history, for all you know X-Boxes might not get invented then. Then time was be messed up.

Then comes the thing, if x-boxes weren't invented, when it came to the time you stole them, you wouldn't be able to steal them, thus you wouldn't be able to take them into the past and sell them. But if you didn't take them into the past, then you had no influence on time, and if you had no influence on time then nothing was changed... Oh blow it I can't be bothered to explian this thing.

And what use would taking them back do? People might be able to buy them, but they'd have no games to play on them.

I'd like to travel back to shakespare time... Just so I can punch him on the nose.

If i do recall, i think i put down "steal alot of xboes and games and sell them" so what? it will create a time flux but at least id have money in my pocket.

I don't think you got what she said, if you sell those X-box consoles back in 1993, and the companies start to manufacture X-boxes, namely Microsoft. Then by the time 2001 (that's when the X-box was released, right?) a more advanced and powerful system will have surfaced which would create a bit of a problem for you. How could have stolen an X-box from 2001 and taken it to 1993 if in 2001 the X-box was obsolete and stuck back in 1993. Therefore, you couldn't have taken back an X-box to 1993 from 2001 and it would be impossible for you to have any money in your pocket. All you'd do is totally fuck up history.

Er, me? I'd totally go into the future. Just to see if most of the predictions from all those Cyberpunk novels and movies I've read come true or not. Maybe I'll go into the near future, 2090 sound good?

find and kill you before you made this thread.

j/k j/k j/k

i would go back to when bill gates was in his mid-20s, when no one beleived he could invent his "computer" the way he was making it, give him some of his newer ideas, and tell him that we can split the earnings 50/50. naaaaaaaaa. that would be selfish.

if i really wanted to go back, i would make sure it would benefit more than just my self. but to tell you the truth, i wouldnt, because it runs the risk of chain-reacting way too many things that could very well possibly end up screwing up the whole damn world.

Angel and Ethix I kinda get what you mean. But what if he just changed the past and had no effect in our present time, but the future of the past? Wait I think we got to that already... heh? ANyway Carnivore, if you brought back the X-boxes to 1993, how would you explain how to make one. Alot of specualtion would occur. In our present time, our history wouldn't be messed up, since it already occured right? Only future would change for the time that Carnivore goes into, while our present time just keeps on with no alterations of Carnivore's doings. Wait, we already knew that huh? Just trying to join into the talk. It's interesting...

I wouldn't bother going into time, though there are few things I probably want to fix up, but they happen so I would bother. It's fate if I believe.

Time: Some point in the 1970's
What: Take a loan and buy $1,000 of stock in Wal-Mart
Why: Because I'd be a rich man today for it.

I've read too many things on time travel to want to go back or forward to another period in time.
way to many paradoxes and too much big stuff could change from one little change.
I would have no problem looking at the past or present via astral projection though.but I would never want to disturb the way things are right now.cuz you have no clue what might happen if you changed something.

as for the whole X-box thing there's a whole bunch of information printed on different parts of the hardware and even things that specifically state it's a microsoft product when you boot up the X-box.not to mention I'm sure there would be companys trying to reverse engineer the X-box and wondering how you made something that complex with no factory.plus you probably wouldn't make too much money because there would be no way to mass produce the X-box until years later.there are alot of things you didn't look at there that would prevent you from actually succeeding in doing what you want to do here.
not to mention Einstein has already proven that it's impossible to travel through time (at least in this demention).
in order to travel backwards in time you would need to travel faster than the speed of light, wich is impossible because there isn't enough fuel in the universe to do so.
plus once you have reached the speed of light you would have infinite mass, and then somehow that means you have no mass(sorry,I forgot how you would have no mass but that's apperently what happens somehow).
but anyways it's impossible.there are way too many paradoxes and too many forces that would prevent you from even physically traveling back in time.you could travel into the future though if you traveled fast enough but your realy not traveling into the future..time in the enviorment your in would just go slower while the time on the outside would stay the same.I dunno,it's all quite confusing and complex, your bound to run into a paradox with anything involving time travel anyways so this is a subject a bit too advanced for you IMHO.

man,I hope I didn't make too many mistakes in that explanation.I also hope you've learned something.

Where: 1999

What: Force Ed Boon and his team to make another MK game

Why: Because I was waiting so goddam patiently  for the next game to come out but couldn't wait any longer.

So basicaly when going back in time don'ouch anything.

Got it!
Stickly speaking even stepping on a butterfly is bad as far as time travel is concerned. And the further you go back in time th more damage you are likely to do. So if you stepped on a butterfly say 1,000,000 years ago, persuming they were around then, you would really screw things up.

You not only take out chance of butterflies species exsisting that would have done through evoloution but stop the possibliy of species that fed on them evolouing. Then again new things might evolve in their place.

You also can make one person fall in love with someone else who normally wouldn't have done. If you do things right. You can stop someone ever being born.
