Sub Zero classic outfit and fatality???

First of all, I'd like to say I've been coming to this site and reading posts for awhile now. Finally decided to register myself and make it official. With that said, hello to all of you!

Now, I've waited awhile in hopes the question I have would have been answered, but alas I haven't seen it. Maybe I missed it somewhere, but I don't think so. If this has already been discussed, then I apologize ahead of time.

Here's my question and concern. I pre-ordered the kollectors edition from Best Buy over a month ago, so I could get Sub Zero's classic costume and fatality. Now, I heard a rumor shortly after I did this, that only the standard edition was getting Sub Zero's bonus item's through them, yet the kollectors edition and the tournament edition weren't. Anyone know the real truth to this? I understand that eventually all of these classic items will be available as DLC, but I would have gone through Gamestop or Amazon to get Scorpions or Reptiles if this is the actual case. Thanks!

Yeah it's in the fine print. Only the standard edition get's the sub-zero klassic costume.

Oh yeah and welcome to the boards.

Thanks ninjustyn! Glad to be here. I don't understand why Best Buy would do such a thing, when all the other retailers are being consistant with all of the editions? *sigh* Oh well, I guess I'll have to be patient and waite for the DLC eventually come out. That just plain sucks though, because I rushed out and pre-ordered through them just for Sub Zero and the kollectors edition. That'll be the first and only time I ever do so through Best Buy.

I don't really understand either. I guess maybe they figured if they didn't include it in the KE people would buy both. I didn't even bother creating an account on BestBuy on the way out because I probably won't come back :/

Yea Best Buy be on Bull, b/c i was gonna get it from best buy first but then i heard about that shennanigan they were pulling so ended going with amazon.

I preordered the normal edition from Best Buy, so I'll be getting Sub-Zero. But that's pretty lame that you don't get him with the other editions, it doesn't make sense. I'd be pissed if I wasn't getting him. The ONLY reason why I preordered at BB is to get him. Otherwise I usually just go to Gamestop because it's closer to where I live.

I ordered the Kollectors from Best Buy and as Far as I know they told me and so did the website that I would be getting Retro Sub/ with the fatality. This was a few days ago

I would advise to cancel the Best Buy pre-order, and get your money back, to get the KE somewhere else. So you will not give these connivers any business and you will get another ninja costume for free instead of Subzero. The KE doesn't seem to be that rare and is still available Amazon online and the Gamestop stores. Subzero costume and fatality will always be available later in the online store to everyone.

Edit- it's still unknown what the real situation is with Best Buy's Subzero costume. Some stores are saying different things when asked about getting the costume and fatality with the KE or TE. So I definitely wouldn't bank on it, especially with Best Buy's horrible service history, and would put a pre order somewhere else to be sure.

****!! Well crap I really like Sub-Zero so maybe ill risk it or just give it a day to ponder on

I really don't think these extra costumes are such a big deal anyway. They're not rare at all if anyone can buy them on the PS Store or Xbox Live a month after release for a buck or two. What IS rare are the physical stuff included with the KE and the TE - the arcade stick, the art book, the book ends, etc.

So I wouldn't worry about pre-ordering anything just for classic costumes/fatalities, unless you REALLY need to see them during the first few weeks of release.

Yeah, I called a few days ago and asked someone in the videogame department the very question I wrote on here. The guy told me from what he knew the bonus was Sub Zero. He was pretty vague about it, but I figured I could bring it up to a manager when I go to pick up my copy and if it's not the case. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll give me a code for it. Who knows! It may be petty, but that's what they deserve for being stingy and misleading. I mean everywhere you search online, Best Buy is claimed to be offering this. Why would anyone think they would be any different than any of the other retailers? Simply put, it's B.S.!

Yeah, all the KE and TE wherever you pre-order come with classic Ermac. That's fine and all, but Sub's my boy!

I would cancel my pre-order and go with Gamestop if I didn't have a $50 gift certificate I was putting towards this. Either way, I know I'll be playing with Sub Zero and getting my hands on a great Mortal Kombat game. In the end, that's all any of us should care about, right? Booya!

@Mk_Reaper....where on the Best Buy website did you see them stating that the KE edition was getting the bonus? If this is the case, I'm gonna print that that off.

@DARTHRYU hey bro this is directly off the best buy website i reserved the tournament edition from them as well because i like sub as well here it is from the horses mouth

I've been keeping an eye on this too as I have the tournament edition pre-ordered from Bestbuy.
Here Netherrealm is claiming all versions will get Sub-Zero's outfit and fatality, and here's a BB community manager saying we wont.

I'm inclined to believe the folks at Netherrealm know what the real score is.
