Some dude on gamefaqs just beat Shadow Noob

It probably isn't true

Reason: %95 of the time someone post something like that without pics (anyone with a freakin phone can take a pic com on) is full of it.
 
So, I NEED pictures so I know for sure that they are unlockable. That would mean Retro Reptile fight would unlock his costume and Retro Ermac (or Retro Scorpion), then Retro Smoke would be him and Retro Scorpion (or Retro Ermac). And then Retro Jade would unlock her, Retro Milleena and Retro Kitana! Or at least I can hope, it does make sense right?
 
So apparently hes lying as according to his gamer tag he hasn't even played the game.

Can someone please try to beat Shadow Noob as soon as possible?
 
The confirmed presence of the Toasty! fatality ingame is a strong argument for retro costumes being unlockable in some manner, for what it's worth.

Unless wearebrother20 had a Gamespot unlock code somehow, which I honestly don't know.

He didn't, he said himself as he got the game legitimately at a random store.
 
Yup, then that is quite strong evidence for retro costumes being in the game.

I'd imagine they'd be a real bear to unlock, so the pre-order people wouldn't feel cheated, but if Toasty! (which is an "exclusive") is in then I don't see why they wouldn't be.

It's funny because this guys "lie" could actually turn out to be true.
 
Other people on that forum are claiming to have beaten him and not unlocking anything but 1000 koins. Ill just have to find out myself on tues. *shrugs*
 
Well, even if you don't get it for winning there, maybe you unlock in some other really secret way. This evidence seems to point towards it being in the game and definitely being unlockable more then not, at this point.
 
Ok. I would have taken pictures to confirm this but I just beat shadow nub in the temple. I got 2k coins total. 1k per round victory. Sadly that was all, nothing ever popped up on screen to snap a photo of. I did this on easy so maybe difficulty level has something to do with it but he definitely didn't fight like an easy ai. Also maybe you have to do all 4 of the hidden fights to unlock kostumes?
