So..is that it? **MAJOR SPOILERS**

Classic costumes for playable characters does not equal "secret character". I think Skarlet and Kenshi would have rocked the secret character thing, then releasing them as DLC would be icing on the MKake.

Interesting perspective, but I'm happy the way it is. The hidden fights are the same fights you had in MK1 (Reptile) & MK2 (Smoke, Jade, Noob) so as an homage, it makes total sense.

I vouch for this. Remember when MKT came out for the N64 in 1996 and the UKK was discovered in 2007, eleven years after release??

Eh, on the other hand MK Trilogy wasn't as consistently popular as other entries. Probably less people played it as intensely as this new one. Was this particular UKK code specific to the N64? Probably the Playstation version was the bigger seller. And although the game wasn't forgotten, most probably moved on to MK4 a short time later. 2007 is impressive for any type of code / easter egg though.

Also, more people have the internet in 2011 than 1996, so secrets will spread quicker. Little Jimmy from Buffalo might have known about the code for years and just didn't realize it was undiscovered.

And one other question would be whether or not looking at the game's files was an option back then like it is now. I think everything has been uncovered, though certain specifics (Jade fight) just aren't crystal clear as to how.
