So I heard Gold is worth more than Platinum! That's unheard of. Also, I went to the Mint website and pretty much all of the gold coins are "This product is temporarily unavailable."

Gold is worth more than platinum mainly because it rarely decreases in price, and steadily keeps increasing overtime, though its not as expensive as platinum. The main reason why investing in gold is considered quite secure.
