SF4 SE Or Any TE stick, Good Button Layouts?

Searched, but really didn't find anything. I am currently debating sticking with pad for MK9, but I am a sick player in BlazBlue, MvC2, MvC3, SSF4, and KoFXII.

I was wondering if anyone knew any good layouts for the TE or SE MadCatz sticks. Maybe I just need to practice more with the default layout, but pad just seems more comfortable for default.

PS: @Jwonggg on Twitter needs more followers to beat @Kineda. On June 30th he will be randomly selecting someone from his list to get a TE stick if he wins. So go follow him!

It can be a tough choice about whether to go with a standard 6 button layout for a stick or to go with a dedicated Mortal Kombat X layout. The X layout works great for Mortal Kombat, and it'll get the job done for some 4 button fighters, but is not much good for 6 button games like Street Fighter and a lot of 4 button games work better with a more standard format.

I came up with my own universal layout design that works well for both MK and Street Fighter. I'm planning on routing out a custom control panel for the PDP TE stick that utilizes it. Basically, MK on the left, SF on the right. Depending on how much space I'm willing to put between the buttons and the stick, I may be able to fit in a "run" button too, although it will have to be a duplicate / swap with one of the other 8 buttons with a plug covering it when it's not being used. I made a prototype out of a cardboard box, and hopefully I can cut out an actual panel of MDF sometime next week.

(BTW, if there's enough interest, in the future I may take commissions to do custom TE panels for other people) ;)

On a Madcatz SF4 TE:

Button layout:
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8

1 = Front Punch
2 = Back Punch
3 = Block
4 = ?
5 = Front Kick
6 = Back Kick
7 = Throw
8 = ?

Thats pretty sweet for a cardboard box setup.I like what you did with the button layout.Does the stick and buttons feel too far apart when you play sf?

The spacing feels good to me. I've always preferred a little bit more space between the stick and buttons than what the standard Vewlix layout provides, and this feels good to me. The difference is only by the width of about one button, so I reckon most Vewlix / Madcatz users would have an easy time adjusting.

That is an interesting idea, I never really thought about putting a different top panel on just for MK. Thanks for all the responses so far!

Anymore layouts, panels, or ideas would be appreciated. Going to lab it up on my day off tomorrow.

PS: I'm looking for an online practice partner who lives near Cali (for better connection). PM me or add my PSN: Spectrality

Thanks everyone!
