27 characters to try out has really sucked me in. i havent even fathomed jumping online. i got an eerie feeling once i do i will stop enjoying this game alltogether. you know how people are online. the quality is degraded ten fold.
 
I'd just invite a friend or two over from time to time and play with them, way more fun and no lag :)
As for the single player and variety - it is awesome indeed. Too bad some reviewers view "content" as a negative feature in a fighting game.
 
despite the lag online play is about the same as any other fighting game. You have your experienced players that bust out insane **** that will waste you. Players that spam the same moves throughout the entire match, rage quitters and some players equally matches as you which will lead to a fun game. I personally think online is fun and doesnt take away from single player

pretty much everything you described is why i hate playing fighting games online. people dont care to have skill. they just work at being insanely cheap for that win. this process will never end with fighting games.

IMO being insanely cheap can never actually win, there is always a counter for it and since they're cheap-asses they will just rage quit or get smashed.

so where do you fit in? anyways i would play online but the lag is too much.
