Ranked Matches Question

What's up guys! So usually when I play MKO I stuck to player matches til I tightened up my game a bit. In player matches I've got about 200 matches in (which I know is low but a job and kids don't leave much time for mk) and I'm up by 130 wins to 70 losses or so right now. So I figured I'd try a few ranked matches well my first 3 matches I won then I got put in a ranked match with a player with over 2000 wins and held my own but still lost this happened about 6 times so out of 12 matches I went 6/6 I was wondering if this is normal or is there something screwed up with the matchmaking in MKO ranked matches? Cuz I thought you played people on your level and worked your way up. Can someone explain this to me?
 
100% random. It's not even matchmaking, it's just throw you against whoever. One match I'll play someone who is 2-70, the next match 2000-123.
 
Alright thanks man. Sounds kinda broken if you ask me. But I guess that's the least of the problems wrong with the online right now. Which don't get me wrong has improved exponentially but as far as KOTH goes needs to really be sorted out. As does the match making.
 
Its not broken.. Your trueskill will raise and lower accordingly.. If you beat someone much worse then you, it means nothing... If you beat someone much better then you, it means alot... and vice versa

And it does make an effort to put you up against similar skill, although because of the amount of people searching is not always successful.

With that said, if you want to move up in rank you have to beat people higher then you. As you get higher, that gets much harder to do. It took me 70 wins no losses to go from a 41 to a 42 in ranked tag and thats facing mid-high 30s most of the time.

Ontop of that, for some reason, when i first hit 41, i played a game against someone who was a 22 trueskill 15/28... beat him badly, and then dropped down to a 40. <-- Ive seen many trueskills in different games do this.

and can someone please enlighten me with a game that had a perfect trueskill matchmaking system? Halo 3? Yah right look at all the boosting and that trueskill is waaayyy too easy.

So wheres a game other then Halo 3 boostfest that has a trueskill system and matches you against people of similar trueskill? Gears? Nope, ladder system, Cod? Nope, ladder system.

Imo, this is one of the best trueskill matchmaking games to date.
