'Jump' and 'Varies'

I don't understand where I should stand on both Jump and Varies. I'm new to this but I've mastered a lot besides this. It's frustrating. It gives you no indication of where to stand.

It means jump distance away from the opponent and varies is the stage fatality. Guessing it varies from stage to stage.

EDIT - if you are doing the fatality for the Pitt 2 , you want to be as close as possible.

I know it's the stage fatality but where do I stand when I perform it?

And also, do I start the button presses a jump away from an enemy or start it then end on that position?

For the stage fatality , as close as possible. You want to be pretty much touching the opponent.

as for the other one.

Start the fatality at the jump away distance. you can hold block to stop your character moving , just release block when you press the button.

Hope this helps.
