i was never really an online game player until Mortal Kombat 9 came out...i've been playing mortal Kombat trilogy and am still playing that old game because it's so fun...i've tried Mortal Kombat deadly alliance and Deception and didn't like it so i haven't keep track of all MK games since...but MK9 kind of have a MKTrilogy feeling to it so i decided to get the game..and it is the first game that i play online....i've been reading this forum for a month now and people are talking about the "new patch" and stuff...what is the "new patch?" they're talking like there going to be some change to MK9 or something..idk...thanx in advance :)
 
Well, it's more like a series of patches, balancing things to make the game fair for everyone, but still making the fights turn out entirely based on skill.

FOR INSTANCE, Kung Lao is one of the few characters that has an Infinite Combo, and this is one of the things planned to be fixed in the future.
 
there has't been any patches for the game yet, just hotfixes which are kinda like small patches that are downloaded at the start screen of the game. these hotfixes allow NR to patche anything on the fly, and they have said that they will know tell everyone what they are patching in these hotfixes on themortalkombat.com. there has just been quite a huge hotfix recently and there will be another patch in the near future.

It's a really small download to fix up the game a bit. It tweaks some moves, to make things more fair. Patches can also fix glitches. There were some infinite combos discovered but some hotfixes fixed that.
