We all know that the netcode needs improvements.
However, even with a perfect internet connection, you can still fight people with shitty ones.

King of the Hill suffers the most from this probably because everyone needs to sync, and when a 56k modem user connects, everybody starts to lag.

I created a room on PSN named 000FastConnect just for the fun of it and started advertising it in the other rooms. Within 5 minutes it had 35 people in it, all with very good connections.

The result:

- Each and every match I played was 2x times better than my average experience. Not 0 lag, but VERY VERY playable. To the point where I could easily pull off combos and corner someone at will.

- I had my first King of the Hill lag free match!!! We were 7 in the room. We all showed 2 green dots(I had 3), but it was all smooth.

So I invite you all to join the room for fun and playable matches.
Room name: 000FastConnect on PSN.
Slow connections stay away please. :)

See you there, fellow trmk members!

NOTE: (wed, 2:45pm) minutes after I wrote this, servers all went down. I'll recreate the room whenever I see it's gone feel free to do the same if you see it's missing.

Cool. I'll have MK back this friday. There's seemed to be a button delay with me when I played other rooms, but IDK if it was me or not. But practically little to no lag.

Well, that button delay IS lag.
When it's terrible, you get skipping and pauses like on most KOTH matches on shitty connections.

I've had incredibly fast matches 1vs1 as well as KOTH. It's easy:

Connect to a player then verify if there's a delay between your input and the character selection icon. If there is lag, just quit.
On KOTH, press [] to see the status of other people's connections. If anyone has 2 green dots and below, prepare for a lag fest with that guy.

joined this channel last night, had quite a few good connections in 1v1 and KOTH. Some very GGs too :)

No prob guys, Jakarta.
Same here Revz, almost all my matches were super smooth... I got the occasional tad bit laggy match, but I know I can refuse to fight someone with a lag that I HAD TO deal with in other rooms.

Feel free to recreate the room if it's gone. It really does attract fast connection users and greatly improves your chances of getting into smooth fights. It can fill up pretty quickly if you advertise it a bit:

Create 2 chat presets, something along the lines of (all caps, of course) "FAST CONNECTION USERS" and "JOIN ROOM 000FASTCONNECT".
Enter each populated room and post each message once, then quit. If you do this for the 8 main rooms with 80+ users, you'll have 25 people in under 5 min with fast connections guaranteed. If it ever goes down too much, a bit more advertisement will correct the problem. :)

See you online, folks.

My connection is crappy in this moments, but i hired a new internet company, they will come to install in 10 days more or less (3Mb) i dont know in usa, but here 3Mb is a good speed in my country, i dont live in USA but ill join the room when i get the new connection.

I saw the room last night there was some people there, but i didnt enter because it said fast connect lol

Was in there last night, koth was actually playable! The only thing was I woulda liked more ppl in the room...

Will definitely be coming back to this room more often!

im dying to play KOTH but ill wait till the code is patched. I live in southern california! i have 20mg hi speed cable and im wired,i dont use laggy wifi, the Ps3's built in wifi is slow wireless-G. thats so outdated. stay wired guys please, at least for fighters. anyone near me feel free to add if you have a great connection, your pc is turned OFF and are using ethernet wired.
AriesSiren on psn.
it does help if they are near u until the code is patched.

Well, I'm on a very optimized wireless connection with my PS3 and, with each and every online game I play, it's close to lag-free.
MK9 unfortunately isn't as smooth as other games online.

In the 000FastConnect room on PSN, I get the best matches, lag-free. But I agree that on any other room, with random users, it lags a lot.

The next patch will work wonders (hopefully, and frankly imperatively) and it should blur the line between good and great connection users.
If it doesn't, well, it'll be a fail attempt to fix a major issue with that game and quite honestly, would be a shame if they don't pull it off.
