I just read this article

It's sad that things turned out like this. The original Red Faction has a special place in my heart. It was a birthday present, the first FPS I've ever played, followed by System Shock 2. And ten years later seeing this franchise go down just doesn't feel right. Although Armageddon isn't great, it's still entertaining and fun like hell. Also, Guerrilla is a solid title. So what happened? Sales? Well **** sales. The video game industry isn't evolving, now, more than ever, it's being a tool for massive moneymaking. The bigger publishers don't give a shit about the product, the only thing they care about is the number of copies sold. And their stupid contracts and advertising are cheapening many good titles, one of them being Mortal Kombat / Freddy and Kratos /.
There is a silver lining though, by the time Q**ers of War 8 comes out we might be brainwashed enough to not really care what it is that we're interacting with.

Re: Goodbye

Yup Red Faction 1 blew my mind, I remember playing splitscreen (ps2) and we were blowing holes in the wall with RL's and created whole tunnels to walk trough. The next RF's were not that good but when Guerilla came out I was like yeeeey and so it was kind of a shocker they'd taken out the free roam in Armageddon but idd it's not that bad, the Ruin and Infestation modes are fun and the car game spin-off is kinda fun too. Sorry to see another cool franchise going down. :(

yeah its kind of sad watching a franchise going down but maybe they will be back with something a little bit more the old school tipe. i personally enjoy Armaggedon, its a solid tittle that still have some of the guerrilla essence. i belive they can recover but its better to know that franchises may died but always cuz of a cause.
