Once again inspiration hit me.

Note: I had to "cut-out" the weapons from another bacround which wasn't exactly great, so tell me if they seem iffy.
 
Well I really like this one except for the fact that everyone overuses the weapon racks. If you took those out it would look great. I also don't see any 'crossroads' :? just a bridge.

By the way, your sig is pretty sweet :wink:
 
Thanks guys, and the reason for the weps is because i feel it can just spice up the lvl and you never know if you need to use a weapon...

This isn't even good. What -is- this?
It's just some things slapped together, that's what it is.
There's no "crossroads" in it, it's just pieces from other backgrounds slapped together into one. Honestly, it's not a bad edit, as it looks like it would be in the game because of how well it's put together, but that's all. It's just boring, there's nothing that makes it appealing to the eye, or anything that makes it stand out. This is just waay too plain.

Dude honestly stop being a wanker. You haven't actually done anything nice at all and rarely praise someone. What the hell do you mean what is this? It s a freaking level i made and its not just some backrounds slapped together i actually take time in making my stuff, cutting out the weapons took nearly a an hour,each! (becuase i had to clean pixels and shit) Sure its not exactly great that K1ll or someone else might make, but atleast i try! I hevn't seen you try to make a level!
 
You need to learn how to accept critisim. You're the one who should "stop being a wanker". Just because I haven't ever made a background doesn't mean I can't tell the difference between a good one and a bad one. If something's crap, it's crap. Sure, I could be like the other and say "wow, awesome, 10/10" But I like to think before I post, and this does not deserve a 10/10. Not even a 5/10, because there's nothing pulling the eye to it. And if it took you an hour to rip some of these parts, then you need to pick up the pace, because they really aren't big enough to take an hour to rip each.

The reason that you aren't getting any praise from me, and hardly anyone does get praise from me, is because there isn't anything to praise. It's all cut and paste and usually very choppy looking. There's just nothing pulling me to look at it. Don't go complaining that I don't praise you guys. Because look at your work, does it deserve praise? Honestly, I praise the art of people like K1ll and MaxDam because their work keeps me interested. Even if some of the things the two of them make seem too detailed to be in MK, it's still keeps me interested, they have good clean sprites and their backgrounds are well detailed and colored. Not just some cut and paste thing that you have just created.

Once again, though, you don't have to be an expert in art to recognize bad art, just like you don't have to be a champion baseball player to notice a bad player. So don't try to throw that in my face. Don't complain when someone doesn't like your work, because you're never going to get the praise of everyone.

Anyway, its really nothing special, especially color-wise..When I first saw it, it looked like it was just the Pit II with the weaponracks from the armory. Maybe try a different color background next time :?
 
to be honest with you, it's not that great. it sorta just looks like another "The Pit". nothing special about it.6/10 for the work, 2/10 for appearance.
 
I'm jumping on the Saphmobile with this one. Sure, it's a clean background, but anyone could do that with ten minutes of Photoshop experience.

Try creating your own background. I'm going to be making another How the Hell thread soon, so stay tuned.

Each level has a theme to it. Something that catched the person's eye. It's a really bad example of a custom background because it looks like every other level, except not different.

Bad concept, bad final product.

I hate to "swim with the crowd" but I agree. It looks almost exactly like the pit. Who cares if it took you 1 1/2 hours to cut out and clean up the weapons. It looks like shit now because of it. Take out the weapons, fiddle with some of the elements, and create something that doesn't look like the actual BG. :?
 
okay, so he tried, Skythe, and didnt do so successful, but u shouldnt call peoples work 'shit.' that wont get you much respect. try to use a less vulgar word. (just to keep you on the good path)
 
Respect isn't what I'm here for. I didn't say his art WAS shit, I said the weapons made it LOOK SHITTY. There is an enormous difference between the two. Oh, and Btw I was a registered member of this site long before you, so I think I know what I'm doing. I gave him criticism. He can choose to accept it, or not.
