Scorpion delivered a roundhouse kick to the flat of Kain's Blade and then immediately stabbed forward with the Mugai Ryu. Kain parried left and pinned the blade to the ground with his own. He relased one hand and deftly planted a punch into Scorpion's face.
Scorpion remained standing, but he felt as if he'd been headbutted by a bull. Kain released Scorpion's blade and swung another backhand punch that knocked Scorpion off his feet. Scorpions vacant eyes narrowed.
"What are you?" he asked.
"What am I? I, am the ultimate being, ninja. This world, as you see it now, was shaped by me. I am without restraint, not held back by destiny. I should be revered as a god!" Kain brought his face almost to kissing distance with Scorpion, and whispered. "But they call me... A Vampire...".
Kain opened his mouth wide, revealing a set of razor sharp teeth, all as white as pearl, And bit down. On air. He opened his eyes to see the ninja was gone. And then a kick to the stomach sent Kain scraping across the floor. Kain stood, backed against a rocky outcrop. A roped spear struck the rock just to the left of his head, and then another to the right. both were embedded. He looked to see Scorpion, holding the end of each rope in each hand. Kain laughed.
"Your aim is a little off, warrior" he chuckled. "Although I am not surprised in the least. A punch like I gave you has killed lesser men."
Scorpion tugged on the ropes, propelling himself forwards, and slammed both feet into Kain's mocking jaw. The impact shattered the rock. Scorpion landed with a roll and grabbed his sword. Kain raised his. A thick stream of blood ran from Kain's thin brown lips, and it wasn't healing. He looked annoyed.
Kain was the first to break the silence, and he lunged towards Scorpion with visible rage. Both protagonists struck and blocked with their swords, seemingly evenly matched.
