Building an arcade cabinet...

I don't want to build an 'exact' arcade cabinent but just something to replicate the arcade experience. It would be more like a stand up shelf.

I already have the PS3 and HDMI cables, and the TE stick which would sit in place. I would need to buy:

-A widescreen monitor
-Some kind of plastic to cover the monitor (type of plastic = ???)
-Wood (or whatever material I use)
-Black Paint
-Two Magnet things for the drawers
-Two Dragon Decals

I need a few questions answered so if someone could help.

I'm debating if I should buy a marquee or just spray paint the letters MK. What do you think?

Would wood be the cheapest material to use or is there something just as sturdy?

Spray paint or a can of black paint? I'll be honest, I have no idea how to spray paint, but I know how to paint regularly. I think the can of black paint would go further and be cheaper. And after I paint it, what should I apply after it? Clear coat? Or just leave it?

Could somebody you measure the width of the TE stick? And what's the average size monitor I should try and get?

Any tips or how much I'm looking to spend? I'm not trying to do this perfect, it'll just most likely be a tall rectangle with some open out drawers.

I might end up not even doing this due to how much it may cost but it seems like a fun project. I'm just trying to get a some-what cool result but with the cheapest options. I wonder if I can just go into a furniture store to find something similar LOL.

Here's my rough sketch (I was on a 10 hour trip with nothing but MS paint lol)

I appreciate any help I can get, thank you :D.

inb4 don't try it...got to learn one way right? Haha.

I can appreciate where your thought process is on this however to really get / have that arcade experience you need to make sure your cab is well, an arcade cab IMO.

I built a MAME arcade cabinet a few years ago. Takes alot of work and it can be expensive. Then getting everything configured can be a pain also. Mine ended up being alot more work than i thought it would be. Good luck with yours.

It's not really a cabinet :P which is why I can't see it being more than $300. I'm not doing coin slots or wiring in the stick for two people. It's more like a tall storage shelf to look like one for the single player online experience.
