Disturbing new Mortal Kombat "Shadows" Trailer

<a href="http://ps3.ign.com/">IGN PS3</a> has released not only a <a href="http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/111/1117034p1.html">new interview with Ed Boon</a> today, but also an awesome new teaser trailer for <a href="http://www.trmk.org/games/mortal_kombat_9/">Mortal Kombat (2011)</a>. This new <a href="http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/14317281/mortal-kombat-x/videos/mortalkombat_trl_shadowstrailer_83010.html?show=hi">"Shadows" trailer</a> features the shadowy silhouettes of various fighters battling it out. The trailer features the song <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Another_Way_to_Die_(Disturbed_song)">Another Way To Die</a> by the Chicago based band <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disturbed_(band)">Disturbed</a> from their newly released album <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asylum_(Disturbed_album)">Asylum</a>. Also released earlier today is a sequel to the <a href="http://www.trmk.org/news/13070/viral_kombat_mortal_kombat_paperalities.html">first Mortal Kombat Paperalities video</a> by <a href="http://www.ericpowerup.net/">Eric Powerup</a>. It's a must watch along with his very retrospective <a href="http://www.ericpowerup.net/2010/08/mortal-kombat-observations-2.html">Mortal Kombat Observations Part 2</a>. I like the trailer, it's a nice teaser and it definitely fits the style of MK nicely. I can only hope as much artistic value and style goes into the actual cut scenes in storymode, which for all I know these could very well be from storymode. Good stuff.
 
This is awesome man! Not only is it MK it is also Disturbed, even with one of the songs of their latest and greatest record yet! :P And it has Scorpion! Hell yeah!
 
ya the video is awesom, but wtf disturbed??? i was hoping for some actual metal in a trailer. i want more trailers with more characters in them soon i hope.
 
Neat trailer, I like that "keeping things in the dark" approach.

I really hope Disturbed's music isn't incorporated into the actual game, though. I don't want to put up with an "indestructible" situation like that of Street Fighter IV every time I fire up MK9.
 
I mean, whoever does MKs marketing is a genius. Plain and simple. Like he just got me even more excited for the game, and didn't even reveal anything but perhaps the Raiden thing? If that even counts, why do you think that confirms?
 
@Deathcore LOL Right? Disturbed is beyond awful.

Anyone notice the spinning blades? Possible pit fatality teaser. (?) It sort of looked like the pit2 remake, but there may be the addition of spinning blades columns? Possible pit3? It would rule to see different pit fatality animations depending on where you are on the stage. That would be insane for replay value. Cool trailer btw sans the song.
 
anyone else notice that Scorpion's wearing his MK vs DCU costume? is that a nod to alternate costumes or is it perhaps a cutscene from story mode looking back at one of the most important events of MK history? because if you notice, Scorpion was kicking Sub-zero off of the pit, or to the floor of the bridge or whatever. PLUS, Subs was missing his head!

maybe this is one of the events that Raiden will try to alter, maybe he will find a way to keep Scorpion from killing Sub-zero and that's why we've been seeing the older one instead of the younger sub.
 
lol the internet creates a "meme" and abuses the hell out of it and the internet only thinks it's cool right up until someone says it out loud.

As long as the "meme" is typed, it remains funny and okay to use.
 
I didn't get much out of this trailer. It's neat to see Kahn and Raiden, even just their shadows. But there was no new gameplay, no info on the story, and not much to look at.

It's almost as if this should've been released first as a teaser and the original should've been released later to reveal the 2D gamplay. I wouldn't be surprised if the "Rebirth" movie trailer kinda forced them to release the other trailer to pull focus back to the game. Aside from the lack of gameplay, I like this one better than the original.
 
That was f*ckin EPIC!!!!!!!!!!! Scorpion is a GOD! And I don't give a shit what any of you say, disturbed kicks ass.
