    If Killer Instinct is any indictation, Xbox would be the only console option. On the PC side, Microsoft does offer some of their games on Steam, but I wouldn't be surprised if MK will be a MS Store exclusive while the game is relatively new.

    The video game industry for the most part is focused on short-term profit regardless of the scope or quality of the game. The developers are always moving on to new projects and the pressure to use the latest technology doesn't help things either.

    Unfortunately, grueling crunch times are standard in the video game industry. The fact that employees are often unable or unwilling to stand up for themselves allowed abusive practices to persist for ages.

    It's something Midway/NRS has been doing since the series turned to 3D graphics. I think it has mostly to do with streamlining the development process, to reduce the need to make lots of tweak due to variations in height and build.

    The unique inputs were only tentative anyways. From what I heard, most the unique inputs for amplified specials were an extra direction. They really weren't much harder than the normal inputs, only added unnecessary memorization for what should be a basic tool.

    I'm okay with the roster, though the customization options are could be better. The accessories like headgear and weapons are alright, but the clothing/armor for the most part look too similar for a given character. Hopefully, there better choices that can be unlocked in the game.

    It looks like amplified/enchanced specials have reverted to inputs similar to MK9 and MKX, a decision I am happy with. Personally, I didn't see the need to complicate what should be basic tool.

    Instead of "Best Variation", it will be "Best Combination of Moves". Given enough time, people will find out what loadouts would be the most optimal for a given character.

    IRC, the lack of run button in MK9 wasn't really much of issue once people found out you can cancel the dash with block. However, it seems it's not as effective in MK11. .

    If it's a sequel, it's almost always going to be about giving more of the usual, with some improvements. This especially true with the bigger and flashier titles.

    Actually, variations are in MK11. I thought the variation system is nice in theory, but unfortunately some variations felt like an afterthought with certain characters. It's like NRS was running out time/ideas towards the end.

    I think has more to do with the fact that most Western games are not just popular in Japan. Fallout 3 and Witcher 3 are fairly violent games that got localized in Japan, with latter doing quite well.

    While I thought Rain's post-MK3 costumes were more interesting than most of the "ninja" characters, his fighting style and personality left something to be desired.
