Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

In reality it's more like most people had to resort to cheap patterns that exploit holes in the AI to win rather than truly master it. Even MKII was guilty to a degree to this.... many people used the jump back jump kick pattern to beat the game.

Too bad "full res" for the KI Reboot is 1280x720. At least "full motion" is 60fps.

The Rise of The Triad remake included two sound sets. Their remade sound effects and the original 1995 sound effects. I don't know if MUGEN supports that sort of thing but that's something that might be a good idea to look into.

I disagree that MKAK is better than MAME. You can't get the original aspect ratio in MKAK. MAME is more 1:1 in terms of graphics especially with the original pixel ratio.

I thought people wanted harsh rim lighting for MK1 HD sprites to be faithful to the originals.

My issue with that is they would be out of place with the prerendered FMVs sprinkled throughout the game. Unless you used them purely in modes that don't have FMVs. I'd be happy if FMVs went away and in-game graphics where always used for cinematics. Anyway, the latest Baraka model *does* look...

Engine doesn't determine if a game is 2D or 3D... it's what the developer does with it. You can even mix in entirely 2D sections into a 3D game such as with the UE3 based Alice Madness Returns and it's 2D platformer sections. So, it's entirely possible to make a game that has a 2D mode and a 3D...

I'd have to agree with that.. kind of looks like he rolled around in the dirt\mud or spent too much time in a garage fixing carburetors.

That looked more like a typo to me to be honest.

It's entirely possible to have a game be DX9 but also have it use shader model 4.0 effects which where introduced with DX10. Singularity did that for stuff such as rain. On the other hand you could run about 90% of the game without it. But it means you'll be having problems... hence the DX10...

I was having the automatic setting optimisation crash too. But I fixed it for myself by finding the MKKE options.ini file that's in C:\Users\*insert your name here*\AppData\Roaming\MKKE and setting configured=true I didn't have to do anything else special. I then spent 7 hours playing the game...

Actually, that's been done before with some (not all) game ports like on other personal computer platforms like Mac & Linux. What happens however is.. if you get the non-steam version you might have to do without certain features like multiplayer... or you can only multiplayer with others who...

That's the one thing that most people who say GoG is an alternative fail to realize. That their selection of newer titles isn't nearly as large as Steam. Of course some people dislike newer titles and would rather just repurchase and replay the same old games over and over. I have a laundry list...

I'll go out on a limb here and say that never in its entire history has Steam ever done something like that... period. The games themselves might.. but not Steam. Even then I've never had a game from Steam do that. Yes, one could actually do a lot with DX9 including using shader model 4.0...

I'd say the recommendation of DX11 hardware is because said hardware would be faster than hardware that only supports up to DX10. Like for example, my previous GPU the AMD Radeon 4850 512MB only supported up to DX10 (I now have an nvidia GTX680 2GB). But of course a newer GPU that supports DX11...

Yes qu3x that's basically what I was saying. Certain shader effects are simply not available in DX9's shader model 3.0 and need shader model 4 for them to show up. Games can actually run without those effects but then you'd get missing graphics I have noticed. Who wants to play MK9 without all...

The Xbox doesn't support DX10 but their version of DX9 is a custom one that supports some things that aren't supported by stock DX9 (which is generally speaking shader model 3.0 on the PC) such as the aforementioned shader model 4.0 rain in Singularity. That's what they mean by "runs an advanced...

It doesn't make sense to make a minor edit to a TV commercial only slapping in a tiny PC logo at the end and pass it off as the official PC trailer. A PC trailer should make a bigger deal about Mortal Kombat's triumphant return to the PC after so many years (over 15)! I guess GMG and Cenega...

I think you guys missed the point. I wasn't saying it was good or anything (I generally dislike dubstep as well). Earlier someone posted an edit of that with quotes inserted and a PC logo at the end and wondered if it was official. Well I posted that to show that it's not. I had someone asking...
