It's a glitch. Search around the forums it's been mentioned before. There seems to be glitches with the other secret fights namely Reptile and Smoke also. People have been saying that they turn even to classic Scorpion.

Nope, wouldn't call that a stage fatality. It's the same animation that is used when a character dies in tag mode and the fight continues, with some extra blood.

They're just re-using completed models with different skins so that they don't have to do whole models again and save time. Wouldn't put much thought into them. But it's nice to see that both Classic male & female ninjas are on the disc.
