I remember loving the first Jaws. I saw it when i was like 20 but it still sent shivers down my spine which i was NOT expecting.

The shining is also a great movie.

it looks dumb but its a movie that knows its not scary yet has fun with it.

A film i dont consider scary, but just horrible (sick minded) is A Serbian Film, it is hands down the most disgusting movie I have ever seen!!! PLZ I caution you, read about it before attempting to watch it, I am not kidding.

Martyrs is a very good movie, but not scary at all IMO.

It was not scary all through out, but her hauntings just creeped me out. Like I dreaded what was going on!

I can't find it anywhere. I have been wanting to see that for months.

For me, it's the original Halloween II. I remember seeing that as a small child, and the power went out while watching it. To this day, if I watch it and someone calls or knocks on the door while watching it, I jump 50 feet in the air.

Not the scariest per se, but due to its extremely graphic and existential nature, it's one of those films you will never forget. People don't like it because they can't see past the shocking elements in the film and get to the existential message. It's Pascal Laugier's "Martyrs". Too bad it's being remade for America with the actress from Twilight and they are removing a good deal of its nihilism. That's what made the movie what it is.

Well now, Come on, not to be a stickler, but this is Scariest Movies thread, not that their is anything wrong with Martyrs or Cannibal Holocaust (well some would say their is) worth mentioning in horror conversation, but these are not really scary, they're more of those squeemish, how much can you take, torture porn flicks. Like their is some fear in those films like god that'd be scary to be in those situations, but it's all totally lost on shock value.

Yea its not your traditional horror film but its a different type of horror yea kinda like a sniff film ;) so i agree with you on that but the whole "i wouldn't want to be in those situations" comment made me laugh sorry.

the ONLY movies that have and still do scare me are the Exorcist, Paranormal Activity, and now Insidious. Insidious was scary as balls in some parts but really ****ing dumb in others.

didnt the part where darth maul was behind the dad (look at first post) scare the shit out of you? scariest part about that was it was when they were in the middle of a normal conversation, one of those safe zones in horror movies when you THINK you can sit back and relax and not have to prepare yourself
