Story Mode Predictions - Who? Why? How?

Which characters will die in the mk x story?

I hope Onaga is not gone for good. Him and Shinnok were the only original bosses we got after MKT. The Deadly Alliance and Blaze were bosses based on characters we already seen. What I enjoy Onaga is his backstory and that it was nice to have a main boss that is huge and feels scary. While I enjoy Shinnok, but MKT really hype up Shinnok as this evil boss that would make Shao Kahn run for his money and he end up coming off weak. He has a really cool looking design and I would love to see him come back with next gen graphics.

Ed Boon said that there might be similarities from MK4 - MKA but they are certainly not going to just follow those stories completely. MK4 and MKD could still happen, but they will happen differently.

When did Ed say that MKX would have similarities to MK4 thru MKA?



In the last IGN video, Ed said that MK X would take place after MK9 and jump to the 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25th year, but most of the story would take place around the 25 year mark, which could also mean that Deadly Alliance or Deception may not happen either.
 
If most of the story takes place 25 years after MK9, then I have little hope that the Netherrealm invasion part of the story will be anything more than just one fight with Shinnok and Quan Chi. Man, Shinnok better be playable or I'll be super bummed.

Mileena is the heir to the Outworld throne. But Ed said we'll see the rise and fall of Kotal being the emperor of Outworld. So Mileena will be tied in one way or another.

Q: Given that this game begins shortly after the events of MK9 and spans about 25 years, without revealing too much, is it safe to say we could see events from MK4, Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon reimagined?

Ed: There might be similarities but we are certainly not going to just follow that story because when you think about it, this is kind of like an alternate reality and anybody who looked at MK9 will know we kinda retold the MK story but events had changed, people had died and so you're probably not just going to see MK4 through to MK8 played out you know.
 
My Predictions (I'll keep them short and simple)

-Cassie is Sonya and Johnny's daughter through blood and sorcery (By Quan Chi?)
-Shinnok knows of Quan Chi's betrayal before it can happen and he Obliterates Quan Chi.
-Scorpion kills Shinnok (He was controlled by Quan Chi)
-Ferra is the new Emperor (Torr is her bodyguard) and Mileena is her assassin (5 Years Later)
-Kortal defeats Torr and D'Vorah defeats/kills Mileena.
-Ferra and Torr flee as Kortal is the new Emperor.
-He previously promised to bring D'Vorah's race back, but hasn't done so in 5 years.
-D'Vorah finally decides to side with Reptile and the fallen Ferra to take Kortal's Throne.

And from there, I'm totally clueless until a trailer arrives.

That doesn't sound like Ed saying that the events from DA and Deception WILL happen, though.

That sounds like Ed saying that events from the end of MK9 will happen (aka alternate MK4), but since the timeline skewed in MK9, DA and Deception may not happen.

I predict in seeing Shang Tsung coming in. I mean if his "powers" were only taken from him, I guess we can see the old geaser come in.

I mean he is fun to play as... Ooh, maybe he can be the final boss! Yes, I predict that Shang Tsung will be the ultimate bad guy we will be fighting! :marchmellow:

Legendary demi god warrior quoted on MK: D in the Beetle Lair, a building on his/her honor and has many relations to insects. It is the only relation with insects until D vorah, who uses similar symbols and is hooded like mainstream understanding of death personification.

Thats a personal speculation of myself.

So, Kano's possibly working with D'Vorah and Kotal Kahn?
I can totally see that.
Kano is usually a lackey, so I could see him serving the next "Kahn" (aka ruler / Emperor).
Maybe he betrays them and is the reason for Kotal's downfall as Emperor of Outworld, or maybe I'm just reading too much into this stuff. :laugh:
 
Kano is with those who rule. He was with Shang, then with Kahn, then with Shang and Quan Chi...

Maybe he has something more...particular with her ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Anyway, the results to date of the poll are (Top 10):

Cassie Kills Kano;
Sub-Zero is none of the brothers;
Scorpion knows about the truth;
Scorpion teams up with Sub-Zero;
Kano kills one of Cassie's parents;
Kotal Kahn is a God;
Kotal Kahn will kill Mileena;
Liu Kang is dead and will be back;
Sektor will be back as the Grandmaster of Lin Kuei;
Shinnok will be one of the bosses.

Well, thanks for the votes. I will put this poll on another site (one that, considering the discussions there, probally has rare contact here) and we shall see if this changes.
 
The bad guys DEFINITELY need more story.
Id be more then happy with Kano getting a chapter to himself. Same goes for the newbie characters (D'vorah, Ferra/Torr, etc..)

Too many characters in MK9 had no reason to be there. And the "bad guys" looked soooooo weak.
How many characters took on Goro? I thought he was the champion of his realm. He looses a lot for a champion....

I have faith though. I think we might see some characters get a little bit of a redemption. (Goro, Reptile, Baraka)

* Edenia will be corrupt with Rain and Tanya as rulers. However, Tanya would seduce Rain and when they are about to get it on, Tanya rips off his manhood (knowing how strong her grip is in her MKD Thigh Rip Fatality) and then when he falls to the ground, screaming and holding his crotch, Tanya curb stomps his head, with her 6 inch heels in his temple. That would explain why Rain would not be playable in MKX. After that, Tanya becomes the only queen of Edenia. ;)

* Sonya and Johnny Cage mate to have Cassie Cage. Then, no too long after, Kano or some villain kills Sonya, making Johnny Cage depressed and lose control of his power, causing him to become evil and blaming Raiden for not being able to rescue Sonya even though he shouldn't blame him (just like how Liu Kang got pissed off at Raiden for "letting" Kitana die in MK9).

* Liu Kang and Johnny Cage join forces against Raiden and the Forces of Light.

* Frost, Sheeva, Skarlet and Baraka get killed off as well.

* D'Vorah is probably another Flesh Pit experiment.

* The woman in Jade's ending joins the Forces of Light to fight evil.

* Scorpion kills Quan Chi.

* Tanya kills Onaga by serving him at first just to quickly decapitate him from behind using her tonfa blades. Then she takes his power, making her a sub-boss.

* King Jerrod takes over Ermac's body and will fight Tanya to earn back his throne in Edenia but will have a difficult time because she takes Onaga's powers.

* Li Mei, Cassie Cage, Raiden, Fujin, and a few more are members of the Forces of Light for MKX.

* Cassie Cage kills Kano.

* Cassie Cage and Johnny Cage fight, making the daughter victorious.

it's most likely that Kano will get killed off in this game...if so i hope in an epic fashion...but part of me also thinks he might just make it! We all know he has a knack for survival.

I also like you idea about Kano killing Sonya and johnny blaming Raiden. Although i dont think Johnny will ever become a villain, but would make tension between johnny and raiden interesting...if that were to happen!
 
I don't want a dark and serious Johnny Cage. Johnny Cage being funny is what makes him a good character. Liu Kang going evil would be better since we did somewhat had a evil Liu Kang with Zomibe Liu Kang a decade ago, but that version kinda sucked. I think Liu Kang becoming a Fire Elder God or becoming Onaga would be cooler in my opinion.
