According to this article over at TeamXbox Midway will be releasing Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3 in volume II of Midway Arcade Treasures, to be released during the 2004 Holiday Season. This is great news for all of you MK fans out there that don't have access to the original arcade version of the games, but instead are stuck with the lackluster console ports of the early 90s. The other games that will be in the collection are NARC, SpyHunter 2, Arch Rivals and Total Carnage, the sequel to Smash TV.

Today PS2.IGN revealed some shots of the new Mini Games in Mortal Kombat: Deception. One appears to be a chess game that could be similar to the classic battle chess game Archon. And the other one seems to be a Tetris style strategy game that also could be similar to Super Puzzle Fighter. Thanks to Shacknews for the heads-up.

The Official Mortal Kombat: Deception website has put up a high resolution picture of Mileena from the game. The picture should work great as a wallpaper for almost any screen resolution.
Thanks to our old time friend JRF for the tip.

IGN Xbox has a huge write-up of details revealed to them at Midway's Gamer's Day in Las Vegas, held a couple of weeks ago.

In addition to being able to destroy arenas, certain environments will change on their own, posing new threats and challenges. One such arena is beach that flips continuously throughout the fight. At first it's a bright, cheery day conjuring up images of bikinis and pineapple drinks, and then it flips into a dark, stormy and dangerous map. When it changes to the dark side, different elements of the arena become danger zones, forcing players to adapt quickly. Another fight we saw took place atop a large, crumbling spire of rock. As the battle raged on, rings around the outside of the fighting surface sloughed off, leaving less and less real estate to battle on.

Other highlights include suicide moves to rob the victor of this fatality, along with background fatalities being active at all times during the match. Also, more screenshots are strewn throughout the story. Check it out. Thanks Shacknews.
