Why DLC?

Trilogy

Drahmin, Moloch, Li Mei, Nitara, Tanya, Blaze, etc.....

Why does everyone want all of these characters for DLC? They deffinately don't come into the storyline anywhere near this time, and I get that the story is changing, but with a lot of these characters it just wouldn't make sense to put them in. The only DLC I would understand is: Motaro (he was in story mode), Rain (he should be in there because he was in Trilogy), Bo Rai Cho (he trained Liu Kang... and he kind of just died), Chameleon, and Khameleon (because they were in Trilogy), Fujin (he comes in in MK4 and it would make sense that he was worried for Raiden and his apparent delerium)...(i may be forgetting someone though)

Well, NRS did say the game was fan service, so to me its understandable why some people would want their favorite characters in. Remember, its a reboot, so they can alter the story after MK9's to add them in there, if they haven't already for certain characters.

i agree with all of them except tanya, she deserves a shot.
and why do DLC character's have to have anything to do with the story??
they're just add on's to keep it fresh. krato's obviously has nothing to do with the story, but he's there.
and what about skarlet and kenshi, where do they fit?
and i honestly cant say i've heard anyone requesting the chars above (except tanya)

I agree OP. I mean, don't get me wrong, I want as much DLC as possible but I would rather have new characters instead of ones that should be saved for the next game.

DLC characters wont have anything to do with the story mode, just their own arcade ending, which in most cases are non canon to the story anyways. It's just for fan service, which is unfortunate since I would love to see how Skarlet's fits into the story.

I don't think some characters should be available either. Not only because they're not in MK 1-3, but also because I think a lot of MK new characters just suck. Drahmin and Moloch just have never existed! But that's just my opinion, but because of that, I'm also full of fears each time they annouce a new character, so I prefer to stay with the classics.

One other thing: If they put most of the remaining good characters as DLC, the next game would have less new characters.

Because get more characters its fun and great and makes the game better and last longer. But moloch and drahmin sucks so i dont want them as DLC.

I want:
Rain, Chameleon, Tremor, Fujin, Havik and new ninjas.

Who the hell cares if they dont come into the story line. Its about expanding the game more and keeping it fresh. I hate when they save kharacters for the next game when they should be putting them into this game. This game is great and the online is great so lets keep expanding it to keep it feeling fresh and add more variety. They set the online up nice and will be better once the lag is fixed. the best thing to do is add those fighters to this game instead of the next so we keep everyone here in one place instead of spreading ppl around in multiple games. Another reason I say that is cuz many kharacters died in this game and wont make it into the next game. I'm not looking forward to playing with post MK4 kharacters and a bunch of new ones. T

I don't care if they have anyone as DLC as long as they put Havik or Chameleon in. If i don't like the DLC character i wont download that character, its as easy as that.

And i feel sorry for Boon because NRS just released the game and many people are blaming him. They haven't even released there first DLC and people are raging mostly at Ed.

I honestly don't care about Story, so much, just give me more characters to kill people with.

I care about the story quite a bit but I still acknowledge that this is a fighting game and will benefit greatly from a large variety of well-developed characters. If some of the DLC meshes with the story, great! If some characters come with additional Story Mode chapters to flesh out their story significance or to simply acknowledge that they are in some way relevant to the story, badass! If they're simply non-canon playable characters with some badass moves and a great look, bring it on. I just want this game to be supported by NRS as fervently as this fan base will support it.

I dont think they need kharacters as much as other stuff for DLC. I feel they r missing a huge oppurtunity here by not having certain things in the game like Vs CPU and Survival mode,Friendships, online replays,do all finishing moves in the trainer and Why the hell doesnt the Bell Tower and Goro's Lair have stage fatalities? Boon said they probably wont have modes for DLC, which is a HUGE mistake. They have an oppurtunity here to make this one of the greatest fighting games of all time, but they would rather skip out and wait until next game to have those and thats very dumb. Adding modes like Vs CPU and Survival would bring this game to a new level. I would even add Puzzle and Chess Kombat to enhance online play even more. Its a shame that companies there days care more about making money than making their game the best possible. Adding those modes and features would not only make it a much better game, but they would bring in big sales as well cuz ALOT of ppl would love to have those in the game. I think they should give at least one of these modes a shot as DLC and see how it sells and if it sells well, then continues with adding the others.

Cheers! I feel the same way, though if the choice were to be "Non-Canon DLC character that has no part in the story" or "No character at all", I would totally buy the Non Canon one.

The story stays in the story mode, in the versus and arcade there is no story just a lot of guys kicking asses, so i dont care if they are from MKDA, MKA or totally new, i just want to have more badasses to choose.

My thoughts exactly. Nice to see some like-minded individuals haha.

I would love to see new characters (or characters that appeared later in the series) in this game. Sure, that means less of the already present characters would be "new" for the next game, but they could always create new characters. I would buy any character DLC that they create (as long as its not overly priced).

I honestly wouldnt care if we got every single from MK history *like Armageddon sans Mokap and Meat) as DLC as long as

1. They get a character redesign

2. They get bad ass and BRUTAL Fatalities

The more fighters to kick ass with the better.

Because the roster doesnt have to be just story related characters. Also some people actually liked some post MK3 characters and would like to see them get another shot.
