NRS had to known that if they put anything on the demo it can be hacked. 1st a leaked from their website of the sound files and now the character select vs screens from the demo. Theory could be on purpose to get pple to talk about it more? I never seen this many leaks for a game but its the best thing that happen to NRS that it shows pple are really anticipated this game unlike any other MK..

A couple of legitimate theories:
1) The 'leaks' are part of Boon's ploy to promote the game. (Yes I know a lot of people are gonna start the whole they didn't do on purpose thing, but nobody knows for sure.)
2) Hackers

well like i said they should of known anything they put on the demo can be capable of getting hack and the "mole" thing i dont know if anyone that works at NRS will take that chance of losing their job..
Wouldnt it be funny if the mole is ED BOON cause u know he can't get fire he's the main brain behind MK. lol

Lmao, you don't know what you're talking about. The screens weren't on the demo, they were leaked by someone :laugh:
i think the screen select screen was leaked but the all the characters render was on the demo that got hacked...

That's what I thought too. But I'm not sure why or how they had the newer secret character's vs. screen renders if the demo was an 'older' build.

well yea the demo was an older build but they already had all the characters done and i guess they left the file in there figuring that no one would be able to hack into it but lesson learn don't think it'll ever happen again in the next MK and for all studios releasing demos

partly its NRS fault, but i wouldn't call it a"fault" we are in a day and age where people can find out the biggest spoiler with a little effort, its not like the old SNES days, we have achievement lists being leaked, roaster reveals hell they even leak games before their original release, like halo reach, black ops and crysis 2, i wouldn't be shocked if Mortal Kombat gets leaked before release meh what can you do?
but the hackers are a HUGE part of the leaks, they dont care about others concern with the game, as long as they are the "first to release this information" they could care less, its all about being ahead of the other hacker.
i think in the new MK they can avoid ALL this by using code names, for example, say they have brutalities in the game, its codename would be Black or something, and scorpion would be Hole
so a code like :/BlackHole_Moveset something like that, that would completely throw off the hacker and we would all suspect a black hole or something in mk when its really scorpions brutality, ya know? meh oh well, you cant stay up to date with mk without another spoiler being thrown at your face via twitter or articals like GameInformer who reveal the pic of the roster WITHOUT a spoiler alert ot anything of that nature =/

I would say that any leaks that came specifically from the demo were more Boon's fault. He knew the problems of hackers searching the code for secrets all the way back during MK3's time, as he says in this old interview.

He said he INTENTIONALLY put false text into the game roms to throw off hackers. This was 15 years ago. So I think that either Boon allowed the demo leak to happen, or he was so busy in the directing job of the game that he forgot about all of the possible hacking problems of releasing the demo, which is doubtful.

the only way to avoid leaks is to not look for stuff on the internet avoid the net. But i may say it's very very very hard to not hit that link button when u see a spoiler alert. Well since we already know what the select screen look like the only surprises left is what NRS have up their sleeves when the game is out.

Just a comparison, not an accusation; as followed through with my retort, the subject in question is morality. Whoever did this has his or her head in the wrong place, thinking they are doing the community a great service when they are actually skipping to the end of the latest hypothetical Harry Potter novel and reading off the last pages of the story to the cosplaying Hogwartsians in line to purchase it.
And as previously noted, you're incorrect, as the select screen was not on the demo file.
