I have it for Sony playstion and theres 32 characters: Johnny Cage, Noob Saibot, Baraka, Cyrax, Sonya, Rayden, Rain, Shang Tsung, Kitana, Kano, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Ninja Smoke, Reptile, Jax, Mileena, Sektor, Liu Kang, Jade, Sheeva, Kung Lao, Smoke, Nightwolf, Sindel, Ermac, Klassic Sub-Zero, Stryker, Kabal, Goro, Shao Kahn, Motaro, Kintaro
Missing from UMK3: Johnny cage, Baraka, Raiden, Sheeva, Goro, Kintaro

Missing from UMK3: Johnny cage, Baraka, Raiden, Sheeva, Goro, Kintaro
Also depends on the version you mean. Trilogy for N64 is missing MK2 Jax, MK2 Kung Lao, MK1 Kano, MK1 Raiden, and Unmasked Sub Zero so it ends up much closer to UMK3 for the arcade. But then UMK3 for the arcade doesn't have Rain or Noob playable whereas SNES and Genesis did at the expense of Sheeva.
Although technically Sheeva is still in there on the SNES version, just without frames of animation so she is invisible and ultra fast.
