TRMK Community Forums Reopen

Today TRMK would like to announce the <I>official</I> re-opening of the <a href="/forums">TRMK Community Forums</A>. A few of the old features are still missing, but will be returning over the next month. We apologize for the delay in reopening them, but they are now back up and ready for everyone to start using.

We haven't finalized all the forum categories yet, so if you have specific forum topic(s) that you'd like to see, we're open to suggestions. Simply use the new comments link to reply to this news article and, if we like your ideas, we just might implement them.

Also we'd like to announce a new community feature, <B>Easy News Submissions</B>. Just post a message to the <a href="http://www.trmk.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=3">News Submissions</a> topic in the forums and one of TRMK's News Editors will evaluate the item for it's validity. If it's newsworthy, they will post the news item with a credit to you. We soon <I>MIGHT</I> add a rewards system for this in the form of a counter for valid news stories submitted.

Wow, TRMK continues to come up with innovative ideas for their website. No doubt all the other gaming websites out there will follow your lead.

Lol, no doubt, home slice. Maybe they'll follow TRMK's lead and stay down for over a year without any updates, too. OMG LOL

Get your facts right please. We were never "down", the boards were down but not the site. I do agree that we didn't update the news quite so often. But seeing that there was nothing but constant barrage of media previews of the game up until this point, not too many big news worthy events. We only post the big events. We have a limited staff right now who have jobs, sometimes two jobs. This site doesn't pay us anything, we are and always have been non-for profit. We also don't get any kickbacks from the media outlets like some sites out in the industry do. But now that the game is coming out we've been gearing up for kicking the site back into action to cover the game once again.
 
It's good to be back. Might I suggest you guys also get an IRC chat going as well? Perhaps getting backin EFnet #mk3? :P

Researching a chat system as well too... probably not IRC but something we can control a bit easier than a large network like EFNet, etc.
 
TRMK has always been up, just the forums were shut down for about a year and a half.

Yeah, I can't wait to see a chat room open up. Perhaps they can use a little more secure of a server than EFnet if they DO use IRC.
 
Unfortunately I was just a lurker from the 1996-1999 time period. I only went in #mk3 a few times and posted on alt.games.mk a few as well. TRMK is the reason why I am such an MK nut today. I remember when MK4 came out and there would be new moves adn fatalities discovered adn posted as news each day. That was extremely awesome.

These days, a strategy guide is released the same day as the game. All the 'secrets' are out :(.
