LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mark Wahlberg, roll out."Transformers" director Michael Bay says the 41-year-old actor will star in the franchise's fourth film.
Bay called Wahlberg the "perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers' legacy" in a post on his blog Thursday. He previously squashed rumors that Wahlberg was joining the film franchise about warring robots.
Bay worked with Wahlberg on his upcoming film, "Pain and Gain."
"Transformers 4" is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 27, 2014.
Bay has said the next film will take a new direction in the series. The first three movies starred Shia LaBeouf and featured Peter Cullen as the voice of Autobot general Optimus Prime.
The third "Transformers" film, "Dark of the Moon," was the second highest-grossing film of 2011.

LMAO

JUST STOP THE PUNISHMENT

I was under the impression that bay was done with transformers and was looking forward to someone else doing something different with the franchise. Oh well, ready the explosives and decapitating robot montage...

How do you go from an actor like Shia in his early/mid 20s as the lead to an actor who's in his 40s lol

Dark of the Moon was actually my favorite of the three

Revenge of the Fallen was complete shit aside from the forest scene, and the first one was just aight

I don't really have a concrete opinion on this yet, but I do hope there'll be less emphasis on the humans and more on the robots

That was the main thing I hated about the movies, probably won't change anyway for the fourth one but oh well

The first one was the best.

I don't remember much of Revenge of the Fallen.

My brother said Darkside of the Moon was extremely mediocre so I never bothered to see it.

I find these movies (except part 2, that was utter bullshit how they wasted Soundwave) are only good to watch in the theatre....once. I can probably never watch any of them ever again.

Dark Side of the Moon was actually the best of the 3, imo.

The movies would be soooooo much better without the lame ass comic relief

But then again, Bay is still directing, so like I said, probably not gonna happen

I actually liked Revenge of the Fallen though, no trolling

But when I heard their was a fourth one I just, I just wanted to lay down some where and forget that I heard it

Oh that's the reason why you guys hated it?
I mean I ignored it cause the action made up for it in my eyes

I hated the action sequences too, honestly

You could barely even tell who was who fighting at times with that damn shaky cam shit, and when you could, it was because they were equally lame slo-mo sequences

They weren't satisfying at all to me

But yeah, Revenge of the Fallen is in like my top 10 most hated movies of all time lol

Don't even get me started on Sam's roommate

Ya know I completely forget the whole movie at some times. Hell I forgot all about him being in college really, I was focused on the robots lol

You're blessed then lol if I were you I wouldn't try to watch it again or remember much from it

I still have nightmares about seeing Devastator's "wrecking balls" :(
