The Wolverine

Man, that is too bad. I heard Hugh Jackman, was getting bigger in this movie then all of the other previous X-men movies. I just wish they could shrink him for this movie. LoL. He always fit the part though.

As long as they work from the script Arronofsky was going to use,and Hugh Jackmans' returning, I'm still excited for this, I've been a Wolverine fan since the 80s' and I always hoped they'd do a movie based on the seminal Claremont/Miller Limited series, which the current script follows. I just hope they get a decent director to fill his shoes, it would have been awesome if Arronofsky saw this through....Oh well

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I was so looking forward to this. Darren is a damn genius and could have saved the Wolverine story. Dammit all.

I'm not sure Aronofsky would have been that great. Sure he has success with his dramatic characters and the psychological obstacles they face (requiem, wrestler, black swan) but he hasn't really showed versatility. If you think about it all his movies are about the same thing, its always the lead character having conflict with what they love (drugs, wrestling, ballet) Aronofsky is still a bit of a one trick pony to me.

Aronofsky would have been amazing for something like Wolverine. Wolverine's story is very personal and very tragic and everyone who has seen Darren's work knows he does both very well.

And one trick pony? Yeah, the stories are similar in that they are about characters who are conflicted with "something they love" - but they all have their own style and feel.

He's certainly not a one trick pony.

You don't think black swan and requiem for a dream have the same style and feel? Everyone I know who has seen both of these movies would disagree with you, but to each his own I guess.

No, I don't. The only time I got a Requiem vibe from Black Swan was when she was leaving the hospital after her little incident with Beth.

Did anyone else think the last wolverine movie was an abomonation?

YES!!
the movie was absolute ~!**--++CRAP++--**!~
had NOTHING to do with Wolverine, or his REAL story line!! it was just horrible.
they just threw in a bunch of characters and called it a flim
not to mention what happened to deadpool....that was so dumb

THAT is awesome.

Hugh Jackman.

That is all.

I'm a fan of Hugh, just want a good director behind this movie. Someone who can give it a nice dark edge it deserves. Hopefully they don't reproduce the crap that was X-Men Origins Wolverine.

Agreed aside from that they felt fairly different films, same with The Wrestler. The thing I think he could have brought was a level of darkness to the film and characters without being overly gratuitous.

I see similarities with the themes of the movie not as much particular scenes. I just feel like its the same story over and over again. Don't get me wrong hes a good director (hes had a few best pic noms) but I just like to see versatility. When I saw black swan I just felt like I had seen this same story from him before. Black swan was a story about obsession and how it can mentaly destroy a person, i felt like requiem was similair in the fact that its about addiction and how it can rule someones life. I still haven't seen the fountain though, that movie looks pretty different lol.

The Fountain is one of my favorite movies. One of the saddest movies I've seen, though.
