NetherRealm Studios has been very vague about which bother it has been, with hints at both.
I've said before that I'd be fine with either brother or even a new person being Sub-Zero in MKX, but I want a proper explanation for such things.

Yes, I beliebe both are in the game, but now I think we need more information to konfirm Bi-Han, because it's most likely the scar one is Kuai Liang.

The murder and Shirai Ryu dog fits better Bi-Han, these are the clues I think may indicate him as playable too.

Just to add to Shang_Heihachi's awesome theory: When Sub-Zero throws his ice at 1:24 its shape immediately reminded me of Shao Kahn's MK3/UMK3/MKT fireball one. I am uploading a screenshot but it would be best if you check it by yourselves :)

I think that the bearded Sub-zero is Bi-han. this MK timeline likes to flip flop the stories and histories of characters and replace them. At this point it could be either one for the simple fact that neither one had a body really when they died. Bi-han was reduced to bones and Kuai Liang was little more than a skeleton and organs on life support. But i personally think that "beard-zero is Bi Han"

I think that the "not corrupted, freed" comment is in regard to the kamidogu/ kano scene in the comic (obviously). either way, I think we are going to see a New Sub-zero emerge who is neither Han nor Liang. This is the Sub-zero I'm most excited about because it removes the whole " big bro or little bro" argument. Bi-han was superior. Period.

Yeah yah yah Liang ,in the OLD timeline, was a hero, and had the medallion and reformed the LK and looked like shredder and wore ninja suspenders and blah blah who cares!

the Issue here is that even through all his "growth" *snickers* he still managed to fail against the alliance, against onaga, against blaze and against frost (yeah even frost was better than him) sooooo Bi han was the shit and kuai liang was a boring crappy sub-zero that removed all the badassery from the name. Noob was right, He's not worthy of the name sub-zero! Bi han fooled GODS and even stole from them! And he single handedly kicked Quanchi and Shinnok's collective ass. Sooooo yeah, Bi-han was, is and always be the ONLY sub-zero....well until this new younger, not quite as badass as Han, but still better than Liang sub-zero is introduced

no thats just a crack in the statue because the crackgoes through the other eye as well. plus that statue looks nothing like subzero in this trailer way more evil and tortured facial expression plus bald. scorpion flame thrower fatality plus being corrupted by nooob and living in the netherelm=evil and tortured facial expression plus bald. or they defently coulf flip story kui masked bi han unmasked to honor kui death likr kui did for bihan in original timeline. im 9999.9999 positve that both will be in the game under the diffrent outfits.

The problem with this theory is that Bi-Han was never said to be bald, so that's just mere guessing on your part.
For all we know, that could also just be a statue of the previous Grandmaster, before Sektor.

LMAO that's the most messed up logic I've ever heard.

Not only does it presuppose that Kuai Liang saw his brother as Bi Han was dying, hairless (which he obviously didn't in MK9), but then he would have to choose to immortalize his brother as a burn victim for the statue? Even though, even if he saw his brother bald, nobody else did, so he would have to explain to them why his brother looks different from how he usually did.

Im just saying cuz everybody is saying the statue is bald. I dont think the lin kui care if the statue is bald or not just their to honor someone Statue has same exact uniform as subz main. Also there is no scar just cracked. Looks like the facial expression is of pain or evil. The statue is of one of the subz who idk but its their to tribute one of them

(Posting this here from the Media thread since it's more relevant here)

I think it's Bi Han and Kuai (like they're separated into skins for Sub-Zero like MK9).

Another thing to note is that the MKX Alt. costume has the same ninja armor on the forearms that Sub zero's primary (Kuai's) costume had in MK9. Bi-Han's costume in MK9 didn't have that armor just like how Sub zero's primary in MKX lacks it. My theory is that the MK9 Subzero's primary costume's forearm armor is the indicator to know if it's Kuai or not. Just food for thought.

On a side note, you can see the similarities if you compare these pairs

-Compare MK9 Sub zero alt. costume (Bi Han) to MKX Sub Zero primary costume
-Compare MK9 Sub zero primary costume (Kuai) to MKX Sub Zero alt. costume (the bearded one)

Hmmmm I just though of something. Jax has cybernetic arms and is back from the dead, which means that if this Sub-zero was Kuai Liang, then he would still be cyber, right? Now, Bi-han has NO body as it was burned to ashes by Scorpion and his alter-ego Noob was kicked into the Soulnado he was most likely ripped apart, based on the color that the Soulnado turned (the color of NOOB's BLOOD). So this is where my theory gets interesting. Ready?:

The Sub-zero we've seen in the comics and in the story reveal trailer IS the NEW SUB-ZERO! It makes perfect sense! That's how they set up speculation and the "wtf" factor. This New "Beard-zero" is, infakt, another kharakter all together! Him getting the scar and being the new leader of the Lin Kuei is all part of the smoke screen! I REPEAT, THE SUB-ZERO IN THE TRAILER AND COMIC (yes! the one who got the scar!) IS THE NEW SUB-ZERO!

*When he says "I tire of maintaining our innocence" he means "the Lin Kuei"

* When Quanchi says "I still have your brother's/ brothers' soul" He is referring to BOTH Sub-zeros that died in MK9(possibly)

*After re-watching the video with the ice armor between rounds it does resemble Shao Kahn's! This means one thing, he's not in fact Shao Kahn, He is another Cryomancer from Outworld! His Main costume is from before he got the scar.

* This Sub-zero fights for the the honor of the LIN KUEI solely.

Look at the mk9 sub zero vignette. Bi Han is bald and Kuai Liang has hair.

This thread is turning into SRK Charlie Nash SF5 thread. Everyone think Gill or Urien are in sf5 because of the gem on Charlie's forehead, etc?
