Sektors Importance

So in story mode we see that Sektor had an arrangment with quan chi to kill the Shirai Ryu an frame sub zero. Sektor is probably the most evil of the Lin kuei so this makes sense. in the vision in MK9 we see a Sub Zero garbed ninja killing hanzo's family in order to frame sub zero. thinking it through Sektor probably chose to frame Sub-Zero in an attampt to have him killed as he wanted to be grandmaster and Sub-Zero, being their greatest warrior, was runner up for the job.

But what I just found baffling was that now SEKTOR is a part of this scorp,sub,quan love triangle. Sektor is (or was) in intigral part of Scorpions entire motivation.

TL;DR so if im thinking corectly, Sektor was the kiler or scorpions family and started this from quans contract?

No, he was the son of the Grandmaster. He took over following the events of MK9, and that's when Quan Chi came to collect his reward from the Lin Kuei. Sektor is just the guy Quan Chi's hitting up for payment.

I don't think anyone should point fingers at Sektor for killing Scorpion's family. It doesn't add up too much.

This thread is just a case of misinterpretation (no offence intended). Sektor was pissed off that Hanzo was resurrected to be Quan Chi's lapdog which, true to the coward/conniving nature of his character, he used as leverage to not give Quan Chi the Lin Kuei's end of the deal.

Basically
- old grandmaster (Dad-tor) hires Quan Chi to get rid of the Shirai Ryu. he does not tell the rest of the clan about it (save for his son and a select others maybe)
- Quan Chi does so, but also exploits the situation to bag himself an uindead situation, Scorpion, by pretending to be Sub-Zero.
- Quan Chi returns for payment to find that Sektor has killed his dad and taken over as Grandmaster. Furthermore, he knows about Scorpion and refuses to pay, since Quan Chi has not finished the task as agreed. (He has left a survivor, and revealed the involvement of the Lin Kuei to him.)
- the Sub brothers have honestly been innocent (of this crime, at least) since neither has known about the Grandmaster's plan.

Also, while they probably decided on these events to have them fit into MKX's story, it actually makes a lot of sense.
We didn't know much about Quan Chi's motives previously - killing an entire clan and framing another, just for the sake of one undead servant seems a bit excessive.

MKX says that he wanted to secure the aid of the Lin Kuei in future conflicts, and may have succeeded too, if not for Sektor's and young Sub-Zero's takeover, and his own greed (he thought he could finish the Lin Kuei job AND get himself some undead servants in the process too, win-win. Understandably though, presumably letting someone like Scorpion die rather than use him would feel like a horrible waste to Quan Chi.)

Sektor actually plays a rather minor part, apart from being just as rotten as his dad and trying to continue his legacy.

Younger Sub fought Sektor for Grandmastership of the Lin Kuei and emerged the victor; hence in the latest stages the Lin Kuei went from the bad side to the good.
