Possible Cheating?

I've been playing ranked as much as possible, and I keep a good eye to the XBox Live leader boards for 1v1 ranked.. So I look and notice xDLWx Legendary was 8 game away from 1000 played.. So I decided I would send him a gratz when I saw him hit it. So I played two more, and he was there.

I go to send him the gratz and he is showing that he's been offline for 3 hours.

I didn't think much of it, maybe it was slow updating, it's a bit broken after all, so I send the message and go back to the leaderboards.. In the time it took me to send "Gratz on 1000 games" he had played another game...

So now he sits at 1001, up 9 games since I logged on maybe 40 minutes ago, and it's saying he's been offline for 3 hours...

Can you hide your online status and I'm just a n00b who doesn't know this? Or is something fishy going on?
 
I saw someone with 1000 wins, 1000 losses, and 1000 disconnects. Hack im guessing

Although on xbox you can set it to were you are seen as offline, so yours might be legit
 
This is exactly why I never play ranked matches. Cheaters and scrubs that use infinite combos to pad their records. Im enjoying my 250/98 Win Loss record in player matches
 
Actually, I regretably didn't get footage of it, but there's a kid named DTP something (XBOX 360) whose XRAY bar is ALWAYS full. A lot of people have complained about this clan having infinite health online. I only played against one DTP member and I beat him pretty badly, then he disconnected on me before the game ended. His name was DTP Sugar Daddi, he didn't cheat, he just tried to spam Raiden and then he pulled when I beat him. As for the cheater, his name started with an 0 or something similar to that. His XRAY bar never went down once. It stayed full and mine was regular. We were playing a player match 1 v 1. Weird, I know. It happened in the Netherrealm lobby. Be aware, hacking is in fact going on... and I suggest people not play and stay away from DTP characters.

Sorry guys I have played XDLWX Legendary and beat him everytime. He is not cheating and you can disable your online status just go to option on the xbox. I do this some times as I am in the top 10 and get msg all the time for tips and to fight. My xbox tag is Hollaback 360. Although I have notice that sometime when your opponent disconnects it counts as a loss for you! Really pisses me of and I dont know how they do it. It shows I have disconnected 10 times but never have.
 
The game sucks at keeping track of wins and losses. Apparently losing a single round in a match counts as actually losing the match, even if I win. Its even worse when I get my ass handed to me and lose both rounds because it says I lost two matches.

Cheaters or not, I won't be playing ranked matches when PSN comes back up until the game is a bit more balanced and the most important fixes are in.
 
I have been invited at least 25 times by different people each time that have 1000 win 1000 losses and 1000 disconnects. I have never accepted any of their fight requests.
 
I think it's silly to care about online ranking, there will always be people that cheat around the system and be placed somewhere far outwith their skills.

I remember a player who would set up ranked matches with a dummy account, go Zangief, and just hit HK over and over. He's somewhere near the top of the leaderboards because of it.
 
The 1000 win, losses, disconnects is a connection issue. I play on the xbox360 and usually after coming out of a match and connecting back into the chat room area, that's when you see the 1000, 1000, 1000. So I wait a minute or so until I accept matches. I too never accept a match that has 1000s straight across. Those are usually the guys that are 500 wins 10 losses and have impossible odds to beat (I am still a beginner skill level).
 
Oh forgot to add, yes you can hide your online status on the xbox360. In other words you can be playing matches online but appear offline to everyone else.

You can go to the guide and set your status as "offline". It's not cheating, it's a feature built into the console. I'm not sure if you can do this on PS3 or not though.

I've seen this. I'm not sure what to say, I don't care much for ranked. >.<
