So I'm at the point where I'm comfortable with Sub (cheer's for the pointers with him). Now I need some pointers with Noob if possible ...

So far, I'm mainly using:
YXY,tel slam. (20%)
<+XYXB, tel' slam. (22%)
>+AAA (14%)
YXY, x-ray (43%)
<XYlb (for tag team)
Leaning heavily on saibot strike (<+x), Upknee, upcharge and slide, never using Ghostballs or Blackholes.

- cheers

Back 1 2 1 4 EX Upknee Shadow Charge

It is pretty easy but it spills 1 bar.

Noob is my second so I will help you out too - but I am actually a noob with Noob.

B1,2,1,4xxForward Black Hole, Shadow Charge, NJP dash B2,1,4xxTeleport
This is done midscreen and the first combo knocks him down as the blackhole falls on the opponent and the shadow charge pushes him into the blackhole, however there is a way to avoid this by rolling away before getting caught by the shadow charge and black hole.

All I see is combos...

Maybe he want more than just combos, Combos do not win matches.. Knowledge, Execution, and Luck wins matches.

I'm not to good of a Noob player, but I'm going to tell you what I know.

Noob is a keep-away character meaning most of his gameplay revolves around keeping the other player at a certain distance.

His shadow slide hits low, while his shadow charge hits overhead meaning upclose you can setup mix ups to create space and begging your zoning.

You want to stay out of the corner so you want to mix up your low and high shadows well and bait the jump in to teleport and get out the corner, but be aware of characters with decent teleport. Mileena for example, you can't punish her with a full combo however you can shadow upknee a blocked teleport and show charge to send her back to start your zoning game again.

His normals are not to great either, so you have to rely on your High and low shadows to keep them at bay.

Please, If I'm wrong correct me. I hate giving out false information.

-Shadow charge is the special you're primarily going to use when zoning since it has the most vertical reach and pushback on block.
-Shadow slide should be done when you know they will be blocking high or used in combos to create 50/50's however don't use it for general zoning since it has a much wider window to jump over than charge.
-Up Knee one of the best anti airs and even a regular one can combo into a shadow charge if the opponent is in the air when hit
-Ghostball is basically Sub Zeros iceball except it allows the opponent to move and attack just not block it should rarely be used as it's generally not worth the risk or there is simply a better option
-Black hole allows you to start a combo if it works however takes a while to perform and is slow (the EX version is faster) however it is good to use on knocked down opponents and can be done on top of, behind, or in front of your opponent
-His teleport is full combo punishable on block, whiffs on crouching opponents, and cannot reach opponents who are early and high in their jump
-B1,2,1,4 is his most damaging combo, its starting move has great reach but is also slow
-B2,1,4 starts with an overhead and can be comboed into his x ray on a standing opponent and is also his best/easiest move to use on airborne opponents as it won't whiff if done at about Noob's chest level
-2,1,2 one of his faster combos but can occasionally whiff mid combo depending on the situation
-F3,3,3 has the greatest reach of all his combos but you cannot combo into a special from it
-1,2 is fast but not damaging and can be cancelled into a special but not comboed into

Against non-teleporting characters:

Your goal should be to merely play keep away. mix slide and shadow charge. But do so with your opponents thought pattern in mind. You also don't just throw back to back projectiles. Nor spam them when you wake up. You want to make it apparent you might do them back to back. But then don't to bait a jump, Then anti-air them with your shadow charge by catching their character on the way to the ground from a jump. If they dash block mix up your low slide and your shadow charge for a 50/50 midscreen.

When they are jumping distance, you got a few choices.

If they are dash blocking you can try to dash in on their "fear" and start up close pressure with B1214 or 2,1( or 2,1,2) (F3,3,3) and 1,2.

If you think they will jump you can shadow upknee, or back dash and catch their approach jump and counter with 1,2

If you think they will stay grounded, you can simply back dash/walk back to get more space.

You can occasionally mix in EX slide where overheads are in your strings for 50/50's The EX slide can lead to more free pressure or a grab. while the overhead part of your string will lead into a combo.

do like B1,2, EX slide, or B1,2,1(Overhead),4

Careful while zoning for people with METER. Johnny cage or liu kang can do EX moves to go through your shadow and damage you. Bait these by making it look like you're gonna shadow charge then block. If you block these it's a free combo.

If someone is being really defensive(turtle) you can use portals to make them jump around and move.

Also be careful of characters like Cyrax/Subzero.

You can't trade projectiles with these guys. so full screen just react to their projectil with a reactionairy tele-slam for Cyrax.

Also when subzero is at jumping distance careful throwing out a upknee expecting a jump. If Subzero ice balls at this time, he gets a full combo.

Teleport characters are a pain and require lots of footsies and baiting. You can't ever really zone them out full screen. You have to keep them about jump distance to maybe another full character body back from jump distance. That way you can bait teleports with the fear of projectiles, or punish teleports enough that they are scared to use them giving you the option of your projectiles back.

All I see is combos...

'Zactly.

Yeah, pretty much just trying to figure the best ways to apply Noob's offence/defence. 'Coz so far, I just spam away slides, charges & teleports - getting in 212's & 1214's (with teleports) when I can. And, yeah, teleporters (cyber-sub/smoke) gimme the most grief.

Cheer's peep's, I will be returning to this thread quite a bit in the near future. You all get brownie points. *group hug*

Keep 'em comin' tho' ;)

Cheers again all.
I re-read this thread, & spent PLENTY of time in the practice dojo, and it paid off. I beat tower on Expert, on 3 round matches in my 1st attempt without a restart and I am now a "Ladder Master."
