Mythologies

With Shaolin Monks being a success, I suspect that Midway will be developing more MK adventure games in the future. Why not continue the Mythologies series?

Sure the current generation of MK is over and the first Mythologies was a bust, but who cares? I liked Mythologies: Sub-Zero. For the first MK adventure game, it had a lot of potential.

With continuation of the Mythologies series, we could learn more about our favorite MK kombatants. Personally I'd like to see one of Kai and/or Scorpion.

A lot to offer.

Just a thought.

Only if they do it as well as Shaolin Monks. With good writing and gameplay, any character could have a good story. A strategy game or RPG would be good.

Personally I think they should bring out a MK game that precedes MK1.

Perhaps a mythology game dating back to when Shao Kahn either took over Edenia or when he assassinated Onaga?

It'd be interesting to see where it all started out.

Well let's think...alot of people used to suggest an MKM: Raiden. He seems to be the other character in MK with a really long and mysterious backstory that's never been told. Looking at all the other characters, who else has a rich enough Pre-MK1 storyline to warrant his/her own game? Scorpion is really just him fighting his way out of Hell to get his revenge after MKM:SZ...the cyborgs don't come into existence until MK3...the edendian chicks are all working for Shao Kahn....really who else is there? Although I suppose we could have an adventure game cataloging the Great Kung Lao's rise to fame...I think Raiden is the best bet.

Since I'm a big fan of Havik, I'd like to see how the God of Chaos (Loki was it?) reshaped the Chaosrealm and what part Havik played in such matters.

"Johnny Cage's Acting Adventure"

I agree with Glamador. Raiden could have a good Mythology background basis; starting from his feud with Shinnok and ending with him recruiting Liu Kang, Sonya Blade et al.

I'd also like to throw in the mixer the one and only; Shang Tsung. In my opinion he is the most pivotal character on Mortal Kombat. Where Sub-Zero is basically a good guy and Shaolin Monks was based around Liu Kang and Kung Lao, I think a game should be released based on the wicked sorcerer himself.

If it wasn't for him beating The Great Kung Lao (in my opinion), the MK tournament wouldn't be what it is.

I thought Goro beat the great Kung Lao and the Great Kung Lao beat Shang Tsung?

Yeah thats what I meant. My bad. Sorry.

In addition to that however, despite being non-canon, I thought Mortal Kombat Conquest had a lot of potential and I thought Shang Tsung in that was awesome.

(Plus not forgetting Kristanna Loken, Angelica Bridges and Jaime Pressly were in it as well. Cha-ching !!! :-D)

an RTS based on the events between MK2 and 3 would be cool, with Outworlds forces vs Earthrealm. Outworld could have Shokans, Centaurs, Tarkatans etc and Earthrealm could have Lin Kuei, Special Forces, Shaolin monks... I'd play it, and I don't even like RTS.
An adventure game about Stryker in the pre MK3 era would be cool. Showing him as a beat cop caught off guard and out of his depth would be cool, maybe kinda like Gears just with more melee combat, like a happy medium between Gears and Drake's Fortune. With the Unreal engine on board, a shooter just makes sense.

If I ever hear the words "Mortal Kombat" and "Shooter" mentioned in the same breath again...well I might just have to do something unpleasant.
