So they've announced the Official Mortal Kombat Strategy Guide. I personally am going to buy one. I want all the pictures in the book and story bios along with list the instructions of Fatality's.

So who's going to buy one of the Strategy Guide for instructions for Fatality's, who's tough enough to figure them out or are you just going to wait for someone to post them on the internet?

I'll probably try to find out all the fatalities and secrets myself, and when I give up I'll buy it ;)

Also thanks for the news!

I guess it's near impossible to figure out fatalities so I'll check'em out online, the real fun is to do custom combos.
This guide could be an interesting read after some months of playing, to become a real pro!

I'd be happy to buy this, as a collectible and also that some Strategy Guides have exclusive Art Works ect... It's also nice to have all the movelist's sitting there on your lap in a nice and organized layout, I tend to find at times Online Notepad Guides are just a ***** to read.

Would really have to depend on the price though, anything more than $30 well then I'll just go online.

I'll most likely not
but if they have a limited edition hardcover edition that comes with dlc code to download something, i might

Depends how much money I have at the time it realeases and If unable to get it, hopefully its not plastic wrapped and ill be able to view it at the store and just get a few ideas.

I'll rough it out for the first month or so, like I did with MK vs DC.
After that, I'll just look online for the fatality inputs.

Looks like an edit by Just Mccullom, either way, yeah i'm gonna get the strategy guide for collectability. It'll be cool having all that MK at your disposal.

EDIT: Yeah it's a Justin McCollum edit, not real.

Yeah I will most likely buy the mk strategy guide mainly for fatalities, however if it has bios and other extras that would be badass as well :)

just going to wait for someone to put it on the internet ;)
so someone on here needs to put it on!! plzz and thank u :)

and how much would it cost anyways?

Typically something like 14.95$ (USD) after the 3$ discount or so. I havnt bought a guide since MKvDC so I might be off by a buck or two.

I will get the fatalites on web and try the secrets myself. If I kant get the secrets, then I am going to get'em on web too.

Good luck to anyone willing to rough it out. Here's why:

Lets assume for a moment that each fatality is a combination of exactly four directional inputs followed by a button input.

So you have 4 direction for each of the 4 inputs:

4 * 4 * 4 * 4 = 256

You would push a button input at the end of that sequence, so the 256 above would count towards, say a High punch (or whatever punch/kick button method they are using now). You would repeat that for each button input (don't forget block being one of them). So unless I've missed a button that is

256 * 5 = 1280 combinations at 4 directional inputs with 5 buttons.

Lets say your luck is really bad, and each character has 2 fatalities. You'd go through 1278 failures to discover the input for the 2 fatalities per character.

Lets say your luck is really really bad for all 26 characters. So that's

1280 * 26 = 33280 matches you would have to win and pull off the above mentioned button combination to discover each of the 2 fatalities per character for all of the characters on the main roster.

Of course this isn't considering:

* stage fatalities
* if you've input the correct combination at the correct distance (sweep, full screen, etc) from the character
* more/less directional inputs

So if there are any hidden finishers on the disc as Boon alluded to the possibility of, and NRS doesn't drop hints or flat out leak them somewhere, either I hope some people have a lot of free time on their hands, someone cracks the disc and can read the underlying developer code, or someone can write a bot to just try all of this.
