Then you're probably gonna hate the movie lol
Never found one that I did like.
Then you're probably gonna hate the movie lol
i think Mortal Kombat in general is just a hard movie to make.
How over the top and chaotic the fighting is from the games. is very hard to translate into a movie.
Then you gotta cast like 25+ people who have atleast somewhat good acting skills and someone that they can get that looks similar enough to the characters from the game.
I mean would you rather have a guy that looks like Quan chi but has shitty acting? or take a semi crappy looking quan chi with believable acting.
For instance... The people that Nasty_Freak posted for the females, they all "LOOK" like they could be them. But I know damn well they are those high maintenance type girls that don't want to break a finger nail and they'd probably look TERRIBLE choreographing fights.
Easy solutions
- Find a middle ground between brutal martial arts choreo and incorporate special powers within it
- Find actors/actresses who both look the part and can act
- Take the core plot points and characterizations and take minor liberties
- Retain the visual motif of the games and it's mystique
I think one of the problems are the costumes. They need to be heavily altered so they don't look ridiculous.
Scorpion & Sub-Zero: Look awesome in MK1 & 2. Look like Power Ranger villains in the movies
ok... No, they are not easy solutions.
If you had 35million dollars. I have huge doubts you'd make a super great MK movie.
More like easier said than done.
That's like me telling CDjr to uppercut Perfect Legend's teleports.
So easy to tell someone to do that, a whole different thing to actually do it.
- For someone with little experience in directing.....Of course not
- With that said, When it comes to story, visuals and casting....I can easily put together some solid ideas for an MK film as well as ideas for the right people in the positions of as fight choreographer, director etc etc
But then you got the budget. Can't always get the best talent out there, sometimes you have to settle with what you can get.
I was just clarifying it's not as easy as you were making it out to me with that starting sentence
"Easy Solutions"
If it was so easy, I'm sure he'd be right on it.
It's not the easiest job on the planet but keep this in mind...If you're going to do an MK1 movie.
- MK1 only has about 9 characters...so mostly make the film about Kang, Sonya, Cage, Tsung, Subzero, Scorpion, Reptile, Kano, and Goro
- Another thing that should take off Some expense is that MK1's tournament took place on a secluded island fortress that resembles an Asian palace so....the best solution would be to look to Wuxia films that retain these types of visuals on 30 mill and lower budgets. So there's none of the overly CGI required locations like MK2 had since the fantasy was almost strictly brought by the characters.
- Cast mostly relative unknowns in the roles as well.
except that when you play MK9 it clearly has more than 9 people in that tournament.
Well it would be canon wouldn't it?
Barakka was apparently at the first tournament. According to the OFFICIAL storyline as of now.
Saying what you said isn't that also saying like
"Well that's assuming the director even wants to do realms or anything at all, maybe the director wants to make the movie about a grocery store employee named liu."
I mean, not putting say barakka in now, would be like ignoring him, even though his presence is there.
Well it would be canon wouldn't it?
It's just It would feel rather stale with only 8 recognizable characters wouldn't it?
It would be like doing a Avengers movie but with only 3 heroes.
The best of season 1!!!Kitana and Mileena part 2![]()
