Also, I might be reaching but what if those ruins are the destroyed Shaolin Temple or White Lotus Temple and that logo is an older logo for Tournament and not the current one? Everything looks really beat down so it's possible..

Must we not forget that Oddjob was the primary influence for Kung Lao's hat? lol
On top of that, it makes the weapon deadlier because people wont expect it.
