MK: Defenders of the Realm

Have any of you guys watched the old Mortal Kombat kid's TV show? It blows my mind that they thought it was a good idea to turn the most violent video game at the time into something for children. Still pretty fun to watch and laugh at:
 
Quan Chi made his debut on that show. I never thought he would become an official character the next year, or turn out to be a major MK villain and even surpass the likes of Shang Tsung in overall douchebaggery when I saw that particular episode.

exactly this happened before to mkm: sz and mk4.......... is the origin of the most character abused in the mk ´story.
 
The show creating Quan Chi is the only good thing that came out of this show. In the 80's and 90's, it was common to make cartoons based on R rated stuff. They made cartoons out of Rambo, Highlander, Robocop, and The Toxic Avenger. I think a R rated MK show can work now since you have HBO and Toonami that can get away with R rated shows.
 
Quan Chi debuted in Mortal Kombat from that series. They were looking for the Gem of Tetsuri. Coincidentally, the kamidaggers have the same effect as the Gem of Tetsuri...
